Forza Horizon 3 crosses 10 million players on Xbox One and PC

The past few months have been quite eventful for Playground Games. Not only did Xbox's Phil Spencer announce that the team was joining Microsoft Studios, but the reveal of the new Forza Horizon 4 blew gamers away. Between the introduction of seasons and a shared-world, there's a lot to love about the upcoming open-world racing experience. However, the good news doesn't end there.

During an interview with Team VVV on September 13, 2018, Playground Games' Creative Director Ralph Fulton said that Forza Horizon 3 had surpassed ten million players. This is an amazing figure considering that Forza Horizon 3 is a racing game. A few months ago, the developer announced that it had passed nine million players. Keep in mind that this is a player count and shouldn't be equated to sales figures.

Forza Horizon 3 has garnered a lot of positive press lately, and the fact that it accumulated phenomenal review scores — it sits at a 91 on Metacritic — grew its appeal. Hopefully Forza Horizon 4 will continue the studio's streak. Critically success shouldn't be treated lightly in the gaming industry because it can contribute to a lot of sales.

Forza Horizon 4 should launch on October 2. If you purchase the Ultimate Edition, you can play it on September 28. The game runs at native 4K resolution on Xbox One X, but also features a 1080p 60 FPS mode.
