Grab a free wireless charging plate with the Nokia Lumia Icon, Lumia 928 through Microsoft

If you're looking at purchasing a new Windows Phone and are eyeing up the Nokia Lumia Icon or Lumia 928 on Verizon, you may wish to know that you can grab a free wireless charging plate (DT-900) with a purchase through the Microsoft Store.

Both Windows Phones support Qi wireless charging, enabling consumers to take full advantage of providing juice to the device without fiddling with a cable. This makes the deal that much sweeter, especially with the new Lumia Icon (or Lumia 929) available for $199.

You best hurry should you be interested as the deal expires on March 16th. This offer is available at select Microsoft Stores and online stores in the US. See the Store website for more details.

  • I wish they gave more detail on how these deals work. I am getting the ICON through work on our enterprise Verizon account. How can I then take advatnge of this deal?
  • From the T&C: "*Valid 2/20/2014 until 3/16/2014, or while supplies last. Available in select Microsoft retail and online stores in the US. Customers must purchase Nokia Lumia Icon to qualify for offer. Some exclusions apply. " In other words, you must purchase the phone with a contract from the Microsoft store. Others need not apply.
  • You just go to the Microsoft store and they'll do everything for you, you buy a 929 (Icon) and you get a free charger.  Couple tips: 1- The upgrade price is the same in VZ and MSFT store @ $199 with 2 yrs agreement. However, for Business accounts, you can do a 1 yr agreement ONLY in verizonwireless.com for $ 229. I did the 1yr @ $229 for my wife. 2- I didn't have upgrade available and had to buy it outright. Price in verizonwireless.com is $549 and in MSFT store is $599. At the MSFT store, they were able to match the $549 price and also gave me the free wireless carger.
  • Had a choice the flat or stand up charger. Great deal since it was free.☺
  • Very nice!
  • I was looking for Icon deals for a friend of mine who is dumping his iPhone 5 for Icon, when I found this deal. (Atif)
  • A friend of mine and I both asked and got upgraded to standing chargers....
  • If you mean the DT-910, then awesome?
  • We did get the DT-910. If your headed in, might as well ask for it! Can't hurt!
  • Heads up, the Microsoft online store says nothing about a free charging plate with the 928, only the Icon. I'm guessing that it is an in-store deal only (physical stores) for the 928.
  • But Verizon store sells icon $50 cheaper...
  • And I believe you can get $100 off the 2520 when you get the Icon as well.
  • Too bad the Icon is out of stock online. Was hoping to get mine delivered today but hopefully next week. Sigh.
  • What is up with at&t! Good lord !!!I like my 1520 but it seems as if Verizon is trying to be the premier WP carrier .embracing qi ! Att is all against WP .
  • Be grateful AT&T has the 1520. I'm on T-Mobile....good for unlimited everything at low prices but not the latest phones.
  • Or updates. That's why I'm switching to Verizon soon.
  • I got L928 and same charging plate, now give me Icon!!)
  • Based on what some of you have said here, I was lied to by the employee at the MS store in Scottsdale. I went online, but the system keeps insisting that I either do a new contract or make changes to my existing account...it thinks I have unlimited data and must change that first, even though it knows nothing about me. When I chatted online with e store rep, he could help me atold me to call the ordering line for the online store. When I do that, I get caught in a loop where the phone insist I give an order # (I HAVEN'T ORDERED YET!) and tells me to call back when I have one and then says goodbye! So I called the Scottsdale store and that guy said they only deal with full price purchases and new contracts because they can't access Verizon's systems to upgrade. (By the way, I can upgrade any phone on my lines until end of March, Verizon said so in an email that promised a lot of other offers to take my money).
Verizon does a great job of not encouraging me to buy, and MS is following their lead. Strange business model they follow.
