With the start of a new season of content for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, a new battle pass is also going to be available for players to grind and unlock new gear, including operator skins and free weapons.
Black Ops 7 Season 2, which launches on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on February 5 at 12PM ET/9AM PT, will continue the story of David Mason that was put into action with Season 1, but a new villain is set to be introduced. Guild scientist Victor Atwood will serve as the official antagonist for this season and will also serve as the featured operator for Season 2.
Like past battle passes, the Season 2 pass for Black Ops 7 will offer free and premium unlock tracks, with the premium goods costing 1,100 COD Points. A "BlackCell" pass will also be available, which offers additional weapon blueprints and tier skips but will cost 2,400 COD Points. Players can opt to earn XP to unlock the items in the battle pass by playing any mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 or Call of Duty: Warzone.
BO7's Season 2 operator skins stay in line with the grounded aesthetic that was promised by the developers at the end of Black Ops 6's life cycle. There are no cartoonish, cel-shaded skins, and — apart from a collaboration with Amazon's Fallout television series — there have not been any unusual out-of-universe collaborations.
Players can expect new skins for David Mason, Emma Kagan, and Eric Samuels, among others. Victoria Atwood will be the instant unlock for the standard Season 2 battle pass, while the new all-black clad Phantom (with an alternative Eclipse skin draped in a black cloak) will be the instant unlock for Season 2 BlackCell.
What we know about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Battle Pass
The following items are instant unlocks when purchasing the Season 2 battle pass for Black Ops 7:
- 10% Battle Pass XP Boost
- "Sage" Operator Skin for Victoria Atwood
- "Malcontent" Legendary Blueprint for the Razor 9mm SMG
- "Arm Up" animated calling card
- "Warped Skull" emblem.
The Call of Duty blog confirms there are over 100 items available to unlock in the standard Season 2 battle pass, including three new free weapons available to all players to unlock. These weapons include:
- REV-46 SMG, which can be unlocked after completing page 3 of the battle pass.
- EGRT-17 Assault Rifle, which can be unlocked after completing page 6 of the battle pass.
- H311-SAW Melee: a reward that can be unlocked on page 10 of the battle pass.
Run-and-gunners will appreciate the new REV-46 SMG which features an extremely fast fire rate and solid recoil control, but lower damage output per shot.
It's the EGRT-17 that's likely to cause the most mayhem in Black Ops 7's multiplayer hardcore modes, with its bullets that ricochet off of solid surfaces. You'll have to prestige the EGRT-17 at least once to receive the ricochet ammo attachment, however, so that should minimize how many people are running around with this particular weapon.
For those looking to unlock camos for the H311-SAW, a returning melee weapon with a literal saw blade on the end, Treyarch recommends using the Close Shave perk as part of your melee loadout to replace the weapon butt melee with your preferred melee weapon to rack up those kills.
Alongside new weapons, players can expect new blueprints for existing weapons like the "Epiphanic" Jäger Pistol and the "Epochal" blueprint for the fan-favorite Peacekeeper MK1 assault rifle.
Other unlockable rewards for the Season 2 battle pass include:
- COD Points
- Weapon Charms
- Weapon Large Decals
- Weapon Stickers
- GobbleGums
- Emblems (some animated)
- Calling Cards (some animated)
- Loading Screen
- Gun Screen (BlackCell only)
- Season 02 HUD Theme (BlackCell only)
- Clan Tag (BlackCell only)
- Consumable 2XP & 2WXP Tokens
Players can also earn rewards for completing the Season 2 battle pass, including:
- 200 COD Points
- The “Axial” Ultra Operator Skin for Atwood plus a BlackCell variant for those who purchase BlackCell
- The “Mind Breaker” Finishing Move
- The “Cornering” Animated Calling Card
- The “Malice” Animated Emblem
- A "Perkaholic" GobbleGum
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's Season 2 battle pass will be available for purchase when the update goes live on February 5 at 9AM PT/12PM ET.
Stock up on enough Call of Duty points so you can dive into Season 2 with the BlackCell reward track and get ready to unlock new gear across Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone.
