Hands on with Windows 10 build 15014 showcasing new features and improvements

Microsoft has released yet another Windows 10 Insider Preview, this time build 15014 featuring a few noteworthy features and enhancements over the previous Insider Preview release. Build 15014 includes more Personalization options, a new Book Store, improvements to Action Center and more.
As per usual, we've thrown together a quick walkthrough video showcasing the most noteworthy changes in this build. 15014 isn't as major of a build as the last time we did a video walkthrough, but there's still plenty of interesting tweaks and changes that we thought might be worth a look.
Microsoft also announced alongside this build that the upcoming My People feature would no longer be showing up with the Creators Update, and instead arriving in the next major update.

Hey Zac, how's the stability of the build in your opinion? Good enough to test on my daily driver Surface Book?
-
Luke. No. I have a SP3 and Edge still constantly hangs and randomly refreshes. Device is sluggish and sometimes requires a reboot to fix. Action center freezes.
-
Thanks for the info!

I'm gonna dive in anyway!! I've found that Edge hangs while loading the home page but within seconds I can search or navigate. It's annoying but not a bad price to pay for early bits. I haven't seen the freezing that you mentioned but it's a different device. No touchscreen on mine

I just installed it today. For me, it is silky smooth using Edge. I almost can't believe how silky it feels. Pinch to zoom is quicker. Scrolling is super smooth. Swipe forward, back is also fast. Websites seem to load faster. Maybe I'm imagining it, but I really like how this build works with Edge. I have a Surface Book, i7 16GB ram.

On Mobile, Windows Map software got a nice update as well. Navigating the maps is now smooth, even if you have traffic and traffic cameras showing. Before it was slow and choppy even on a Lumia 950 XL. Also the GPS location during turn-by-turn navigation is now correct. The map perspective was also changed during turn-by-turn navigation mode.

well that's good news
-
And Apps corner is gone.
-
I thought it was just me. I'll be updating my 929 after my lunch break. I use maps a lot.

why you choose a frog to voice this video ?

Clean L930.. Have to admit, seems faster .. Somehow better..
-
Why did they have to make it a slider for the power options? It would look better if it was a square button next to the Brightness button.

Actually a drop down menu to choose profiles would be better especially when you have tons of profiles set up (Though for why having too many profiles. Maybe because we can).
-
The Slack icon thing is a bug, that's the default Apps icon.
-
No Books in store, and no mail icon on taskbar either. Not for me.
-
Books - US only, so may be omitted due to region. Not sure about Mail.
-
Hope they revert to previous search bar look. The new one is totally out-of-place that it turns kinda ugly. If there is a light theme then that make sense, but for dark and colored themes, it looks horrible. Thing is light theme on Taskbar seems not yet coming or is it?

If the ebooks are limited to reading in edge then I will never buy a book from Windows Store.

Zac, you had a very funny mood in this video (from your reaction to the book's price to a few other UI changes). Loved it, haha
