Heroes of the Storm is a multiplayer online battle arena game developed Blizzard Entertainment. It features characters from all of the company's acclaimed franchises like Diablo, Overwatch, and more. While the title started off as a somewhat lackluster experience, it has become quite addictive in recent months. The continued support and the odd mashups are the reason behind its relative success.
Today, the team added a new character named Qhira. According to Blizzard, she's a deadly Iresian Bounty Hunter and Melee Assassin, armed with an Iresian Chainblade, which helps ensure that she always collects her bounties. A former knight of her now-shattered homeland, Qhira's prowess is unmatched on the battlefield. Her distinctive playstyle is great for lightning-fast moves and dealing high amounts of damage.
Adam Jackson, the Live Designer for Heroes of the Storm, told us more about the new character's abilities. In an interview he conducted with Windows Central, he said the following.
Her status as a bounty hunter who uses a Chainblade was definitely the main inspiration behind the character. The weapon was a focal point for both her artistic design and her gameplay, and largely dictated many of the directions that we decided to go during her development. After we designed her Chainblade, the rest of her kit fell into place fairly quickly. In addition to her Chainblade which she can use to attach to and swing around enemy Heroes, she also has a Grappling Hook that can be used to pull her to enemy Heroes or terrain. The combination of these two abilities allows for Qhira to do a lot of things that are unique.
Qhira is definitely a unique and incredibly powerful character, but it takes time to master her moves. However, if you're able to get past that initial learning curve, she can be quite deadly. What do you think of her abilities? Let us know.
