HTC Touch Pro 2 Caught on Tape (updated)

Well to be fair to the HTC Touch Pro 2, we stumbled upon yet another video that pda.pl (opens in new tab) was able to capture during a recent visit to HTC.  Just like the Touch Diamond 2's video, there is still no narration but plenty of hip-hop techno music.

The reset button appears to have been moved beneath the battery cover on the Touch Pro 2 and the video gives a good view of the backside of the screen as it's in the tilted position.  The three sliding hinges look solid.  The video also compares the Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2 side by side.

Update: And yet another video of the Touch Pro 2 in the wild from our friends at Mobilna Technologia after the break.

  • OK. Phil officially wants. Please send donations to ...
  • Diamond 2 is not much thinner. Intrigued now... So is it a 3.6" or 3.4" screen?
  • Is it just me or does this thing look way thinner than the Touch Pro? Maybe it's just the curvier styling and silver color, I don't know... But I remember when the Touch Pro photos leaked out and I thought it was a fat chunk of a device. This thing, however, looks quite normal sized. I swore I'd never buy another horizontal slider again, but this one might give me pause to reconsider..
  • I'm with you on this. It is supposed to be a bit thinner according to the specs (17.25mm vs 18.05mm). I'm sure the curved edges make it seem like even more. I wish the Diamond2 was basically the same as the TP2 without the keyboard. Screen size and styling. I've mastered TouchPal on my diamond so a hardware keyboard is no longer necessary for me (especially with a bigger screen). Plus I'm not a fan of horizontal sliders.
  • Definitely my TyTN II replacement. Now, if they only come out with a NAM version...
  • no 3.5 mm headphone jack?
  • nope, makes no sense when the HD has one
  • Maybe it's too expensive?
  • I hope VZW does not shortchange this one like the Touch Pro
  • I find it amusing how the guy uses the TP2 in the new video. Index finger to type? Stylus with the screen flipped up? My fingers felt cramped watching it.
