JumpWheel is a 3D arcade game available in the Windows Phone Store. The game has you guiding a jumping wheel across a series of gaming levels. As you race across the platforms, you can collect points and power-ups all the while avoiding a host of obstacles. One wrong move and your wheel could fall endlessly into the abyss.
The Windows Phone game normally runs $1.49 and over the next twenty-four hours, through the myAppFree campaign, you can pick up JumpWheel free. In just playing the game for a short while, the graphics look good, game play is challenging and overall, JumpWheel is an entertaining option to have in your Windows Phone gaming library.
JumpWheel has 22 challenging gaming levels that are laid out in platformer fashion. You control your wheel by tapping the lower right corner of the screen to make it jump. Double tap to make it jump a little higher. If you want to cut your jump short, tap the lower left corner of the gaming screen. As you run the rails of the platform level, you will have to jump across the gaps and collect tokens or coins. The number of coins you collect will influence your final score for the level.
You will also find directional arrows that will give your wheel a burst of speed and at times a change of direction. Typically these arrows are in place to help you collect coins that are slightly out of reach of your double-jump range. There are a few power-ups to help your wheel survive the level and you also have three different wheel types that have varying abilities.
Overall, JumpWheel comes across as an entertaining Windows Phone game with nice looking graphics and challenging game play. I wouldn't mind seeing an option to have your Windows Phone accelerometer control the speed and direction of the wheel, but as is, the game will keep you on your toes.
JumpWheel is regularly priced at $1.49 in the Windows Phone Store, but through the myAppFree campaign you can pick the game up free. The deal ends tomorrow and if you are looking for a decent time waster of a game for your Windows Phone, now is the time to save a little coin.
