The head of Microsoft's marketing efforts, Chris Capossela, may have made a slight slip and confirmed the existence of the rumored Lumia 650 smartphone. Capossela could have indirectly made that reveal as part of an interview during today's Windows Weekly podcast.
During the podcast, ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley asked Capossela when the Lumia 650 would be released, and Capossela reportedly replied that they had not announced a release date yet. Obviously, Capossela didn't flat out state that the Lumia 650 was in the works, but if this report is accurate, the inference would seem to be clear.
We have already reported extensively on Microsoft's plans for the Lumia 650, and even got leading render creator @PhoneDesigner to make some unofficial renders of the phone, based what our sources have shown us about the device. Here's a reminder of what our sources say will be inside the phone

The Lumia 650 is geared as Microsoft's low-cost business phone meant for mass-purchasing similar to how the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL were marketed in early 2015.
Finally, the Lumia 650 is likely the last Lumia to be made by Microsoft as all efforts switch to the 'Panos phone' for fall 2016. You can find more information about that phone in our extensive article 'The Surface Phone you've always wanted is happening'.
Microsoft may have delayed Windows 10X and Surface Neo beyond 2020
Microsoft's upcoming Windows 10X and Surface Neo products may not be shipping in time for the holiday after all, according to a new report from ZDNet's Mary-Jo Foley. This means that other Windows 10X devices from third-party manufactures also won't be launching at the end of this year like originally planned. Microsoft's dual-screen Windows 10X effort has been put on pause.
