"coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 "
AND Steam. I didn't know when they announced a steam version of this. I like this, because I prefer getting this on Steam than on Win10 store.
Game from Steam -> WinClassic.
Game frome MsStore -> Xbox, WCOS, WinClassic, xCloud
I'll just say:
Steam -> My Win7 PC + My Win8 laptop + My Win10 PC
Steam -> Game adds on my MUCH bigger steam library that include the first Ori
Steam -> Game sharing feature with my family/friends
Steam -> More input available (I can play with my Steam controller)
Steam -> Much bigger community, features and options
Steam -> More open to 3rd party soft like fraps MS Store -> My Win10 PC
Win7/8... I'd throw it away or donate'em. What's the point keeping older systems? Why not just unify everything and keep it simple? Same / newest OS version + same / newest SW version, all of my SW and dev tools work fine on multiple Win10 machines and I sync or version control everything (my projects, my own OS hacks, docs, raw photos, automations, website hacks / enhancements, todo, everything). My games will work fine on various Win10 variants and xCloud is on its way.
I don't keep rubbishes. I'll replace my older Xbox as soon as new one's got out. I only need 1 system, 1 set of (power/video/audio/etc) cables and 4 gamepads in the living room. It's called minimalism. Steam controller? Niche. Who cares. Steam has advantge in game sharing, library, friends, family and community? That depends. And I can certainly game share my Gears5 with multiple family members and they can run it on Win10 PC or phones.
Still, Steam stays with WinClassic. New form factors and HW architectures belongs to WCOS.
Even if Valve wants to support APPX, and start urging devs to support APPX, how many years do you think that will take? How about older games? Remain legacy win32? Future-proof? Win7/8? You are living in the past... ps: Don't tell me you still keep your ps1~3 in the living room... 3*4 more gamepads? 3 more video/audio/power cables?
"Win7/8... I'd throw it away or donate'em. What's the point keeping older systems?"
WTF? Because they work well. Why should I just throw off something that works well and serves a purpose? Overconsumption. Look it up. "Steam controller? Niche. Who cares."
I care. lol How about choice of having every controller you own work?
Niche is very subjective term. I could just reply: "XB? Niche. Who cares."
But I'm not an idiot. I actually believe in letting people do whatever they want. You want to play Ori and the will of the wisps on your XB1? Go ahead I'm not telling you what to do...
Did you even play the original? I talk about the reason why I'll buy a game on Steam instead of the platform you're trying to sell. So I'm giving reasons. Whatever works for you doesn't work for everyone. You do your thing. You're like a used car salesman trying to sell his **** with bs arguments.
Your posts are almost always the same: "you trying to sell or promote a MS product or service".
Look at this one LOL:
If it's not promoting MS, it's about trashing MS's rivals. lol You're trying hard to sell you're beloved WinStore, but I'm not buying. I won't throw out perfectly working stuff just because MS decided to release Win10 and stop supporting games on their previous OS. You think I live in the past because I have a Win8 laptop? Ok fine, but at least I'm not a company fanboy who'll try to sell each of their product like as if it's God's gift to mankind.
> Overconsumption. Look it up.
What's your use case for those legacy systems? Better than donate/resell to 3rd country or recycle?
Overconsumption? Am I replacing my old machines with new ones every year?
Are you not going to buy a PS5 because you already own PS1~4? > > "Steam controller? Niche. Who cares."
> I care.
Majority don't care. > Game from Steam -> WinClassic.
> Game frome MsStore -> Xbox, WCOS, WinClassic, xCloud
Same thing. When I said this, I'm not talking about my preference, I'm talking about 1 or 0.
I don't code / do if-statements based on emotion or preference, I do those things with 1 or 0. > Niche is very subjective term.
But Steam Machines, Steam Controller and Steam Link are discontinued. As if these things were popular? Majority don't make decisions based on things they don't care. You sound more like a broken record trying to sell "your preference" to whoever visits WinCentral... I know you are talking about yourself (but sometimes you make it sound like you ARE the majority), tho you keep saying you are not a fan of anything, but you have a preference, so, you are not a fan of nothing. I withheld buying games from Steam and PsStore around mid-2016, and soon as I heard the plans about WCOS, AI, ML, Azure, XPA, etc (and Valve shows no sign of adapting those, and even if they want to, they'll have a hard time adapting it. Sony, is just incapable)... I know ↓ is going to happen.
> Game from Steam -> WinClassic.
> Game frome MsStore -> Xbox, WCOS, WinClassic, xCloud
Besides, PC gaming == never ending trouble. So I dropped both stores.
"Overconsumption? Am I replacing my old machines with new ones every year?
Are you not going to buy a PS5 because you already own PS1~4?"
Wait you're telling me to get rid of my PC that works perfectly for no valid reason that interest me. Can you understand how stupid that is?
I don't even know if I'll buy a PS5. I've said it in the past. They should give me reason to make me buy the console. I'm not a company slave who'll buy a product blindly just because it's made by that company. I'm a gamer. My priority is games. I see ZERO reason to get rid of my PC at the moment ZERO. "Majority don't care."
Majority of gamers don't care about XB, Halo 5, Forza or whatever you're trying to sell. In fact, I wonder how many players bought or cared about the highest selling game was bought by half of the gaming population. "But Steam Machines, Steam Controller and Steam Link are discontinued. As if these things were popular? Majority don't make decisions based on things they don't care. You sound more like a broken record trying to sell "your preference" to whoever visits WinCentral..."
Well, I was talking about ME. Why I want to buy it on steam. My opinion.
You are the one who came here trying to start a discussion about MY opinion. I'm not here telling people to through out their PC and controllers and stick to Win10 and XBox. I'm not like you. And the point about the Steam controller is that I can play with my steam controller, my 360 controller and others on steam. It's much easier to configure. Why should I restrict myself? WHY?
If you want to take it to a more global point of view. Steam is much more open than the X10 when it comes to different controllers. There you're happy? "Same thing. When I said this, I'm not talking about my preference, I'm talking about 1 or 0.
I don't code / do if-statements based on emotion or preference, I do those things with 1 or 0."
Yes, when I say Steam controller you don't count it. Steam controller + X360 controller is always MORE than only X360 controller. And it goes beyond Steam controllers. Steam supports a whole lot more controllers. I'm surprise that you'll not mention that in your "logical comparison of 1 or 0". Can it be that you're bias? :o "I know you are talking about yourself (but sometimes you make it sound like you ARE the majority), tho you keep saying you are not a fan of anything, but you have a preference, so, you are not a fan of nothing."
When exactly dud I make it sound like I am the majority?
Just a quote or a link would do. It's amazing how you'll bring this type of argument without providing evidence.
Did this start just because you didn't like my opinion about me preferring Steam? LOL Maybe when I say " I like this, because I prefer getting this on Steam than on Win10 store." You somehow think that I'm not talking about myself but a majority of people. lol In that case I can't help you. It's a YOU problem.
Oh and btw, why are you talking about a majority all of a sudden. Do you think more gamers game on Win10 than steam? I'm really confused by your logic. Next having a preference doesn't mean you're a fan of the thing you prefer. That's simple English...
Also where have I said I am "not a fan of anything"? Just a link will do.
It's amazing how you put words in my mouth and claim things about me that I never said. Maybe you confused that with me saying I'm not a company fan. Maybe for you it's strange not to be fan of a company but it's true and it also doesn't mean I'm "not a fan of anything". "Besides, PC gaming == never ending trouble. So I dropped both stores."
Thanks for your opinion. Nothing more, nothing less...
Maybe you should have just given your opinion instead of trying to tell me how to game and how to live my life while selling MS products and services.
Let's slow down a bit. > "Overconsumption? Am I replacing my old
> machines with new ones every year?
> Are you not going to buy a PS5 because
> you already own PS1~4?"
> My priority is games. I see ZERO reason
> to get rid of my PC at the moment ZERO. I said minimalism, to keep things tidy and clean (especially when you are not single) so we all should get rid of older stuffs (ps: not mindlessly dump it in the dumpster). And you tell me that's overconsumption no?
Eventually, you will buy the newer "something" no? Then why would you still want to keep the older "something"? * It's overconsumption if you are buying something unnecessary e.g. new iPhone every 1 or 2 years. Q: So, are you keeping win7/8 and PS1~3 around just for gaming?
What I would say is why throw out things that I'm using? My Win7 PC is my day to day PC that works really well and is in one room. My laptop I use when I'm on the move or on vacation. My Win10 PC is my more powerful my gaming PC that's connected to my TV. You're telling me to get rid of my vacation PC means I'll need to buy another one. Same thing with my room PC.
It would make sense if one or more of my PC aren't being used. But that's not the case. And your argument makes no sense. Overconsumption would be buying in access and buying even if you don't need to. And to reply your second question. I still have my old consoles. But none are connected.
You've clarified your use for those old systems, legit clams to me, but...
1. cleaning out unnecessary stuffs != over consumption.
2. you can find a use for those older systems doesn't means others can. > my old consoles. But none are connected.
I have those too, years of collections, in my warehouse across the sea. It's kinda ok cause 1) I'm not living with those garbage 2) I have storage space.
In my home (also because I'm not single), I'll resell, donate, give it away, whatever, to clean out the space.
Eventually, I'll (and people will) buy the SeriesX (PS5, new PC), then that's the time I need to find a way to get rid of the older stuffs (in this case, I'll be replacing xb1OG with xb1x in the office), because SeriesX runs everything I bought since 2016. If MS didn't start this BC&FC thing, I wouldn't have drop Steam and PS, but, I would be happy either e.g. "But none are connected", those are burden (esp when you want to move to other places or countries).
Is my current lifestyle OK with you? Fell the need to call me or others fan of some company?
> Also where have I said I am "not a fan of anything"?
Q: Are you a fan of Steam & PS?
I'm not a fan of companies or brands.
> "Majority don't care."
> Majority of gamers don't care about XB, Halo 5
> Thanks for your opinion. Nothing more, nothing less...
> Maybe you should have just given your opinion instead
Before jump into the long paragraphs... shall we both do some if-else to see if we are biased? Q1. Game from Steam → runs only on WinClassic.
Q2. Game from MsStore → Xboxes, WCOS, WinClassic, xCloud.
Q3. Game from PS4 store → PS4, PS5(?)
Q4. PSPA (XPA equivalent) is not possible.
Q5. PSNow → ps4, pc and phone, but games you own might not be in its lineup.
Q6. Xbox team has developed techniques like mipmap modding, and PS/Steam don't have that.
Q7. Steam Machines, Steam Controller and Steam Link are discontinued.
Q8. Guest_aotf loves his Steam Controller.
Q9. Steam Controller == unpopular.
Q10. Steam Controller can work on Win10.
Q11. Steam Controller can work on Win10 but it's not a factor why majority choose to game on PC.
Q12. Epic, is capable of writing good cross-platform account managing / sync code.
Q13. XB1 runs XBog/360/1 games on emulation.
Q14. PS4 runs ps4 games without emulation.
Q15. Emulation, logically, is more flexible in the long run.
Simple y/n, true/false that requires no further explanation. I'll give you my answers later.
> Q11. Steam Controller can work on
> Win10 but it's not a factor why
> majority choose to game on PC.
why "some" choose to game on PC.
"Before jump into the long paragraphs... shall we both do some if-else to see if we are biased?"
How about no?
Are you joking?
All this started because you felt the need to reply to me when I said "I prefer getting this on Steam than on Win10 store".
I answered your questions, while you question my way of living and my opinion. Next, you try to accuse me of saying that I'm making my opinion sound as if I am the majority. You didn't reply MY questions or MY points. You ignore when I ask for something or when I make a point that bothers you, while you keep asking questions. You made me list out the MS and Sony games and that led to nothing as of now.
So stop. A discussion is two-way not just one way. I don't do interviews.
Have you never replied and question someone else's and call'em xxx fan? Q12. Epic, is capable of writing good cross-platform account managing / sync code.
True or false?
You replied under Asher right? btw,
Q16. Xbox Live Cloud save is free and supports cross-platform.
True or false?
Do you remember what you told me? Q1. Game from Steam → runs only on WinClassic.
As far as we can see, a yes. The answer has no preference involved. Q2. Game from MsStore → Xboxes, WCOS, WinClassic, xCloud.
Yes. The answer has no preference involved. Q3. Game from PS4 store → PS4, PS5(?)
Most likely a yes. The answer has no preference involved. Q4. PSPA (XPA equivalent) is not possible.
Yes. The answer has no preference involved. Q5. PSNow → ps4, pc and phone, but games you own might not be in its lineup.
So far, a yes. The answer has no preference involved. Please give me a list of y/n if you are sure you are not biased or a fan. btw, I don't need your explanation (like those how many hour I played a game or if you've beaten it, that's pointless info). Just y/n.
"Ah built-in battery. So where are all those people coming in and talking crap about "what if my battery dies and how they prefer AA batteries? Where are you guys? Where are you hiding?" That shows someone's character right? These are your words. Why you started this? What made you say this?
If there no such thing as "group" in your subconscious, what do you mean "where are all those people"?
Are you sure you are not in some kinda group, not a fan of something? Ｑ: What made you say this? Q: Is being able to hot-wrap your battery, a better design than built-in? List out the pros&cons might help you.
So what you have come up was more questions. You also reply you're own question with things that are false.
I won't just give yes and no answer when you don't do that.
Sometimes precision or details needs to be given out.
That's how debates and discussion works.
It cannot be just me replying to your questions and you ignoring whatever questions I ask. You made me list out the list of MS/Sony games I played but still didn't make any point about it.
Did you waste my time with baseless questions?
> You also reply you're own
> question with things that are false.
Which one is false? Q4. PSPA (XPA equivalent) is not possible.
Is PSPA possible? "Ah built-in battery. So where are all those people coming in and talking crap about "what if my battery dies and how they prefer AA batteries? Where are you guys? Where are you hiding?"
Why you said / assumed this to another "group"? Cause in your subconscious, everyone-in-that-group are like you, cause that's the typpa person you are no?
Can't wait for this game to come out. Loved the first.
Big big release this one. One of the biggest 2020 games coming. Can't wait. Beautiful trailer. And free on Xbox And PC Gamepass
Not free because you pay for game pass to be able to rent it.
Yes your right. But it's a damn sight cheaper than buying games. Or paying full price to rent games from Steam. Considering Valve reserve the right to cut your access at anytime.
