Press Release

LONDON, UK – 15th March 2016 – Samsung Electronics UK today announced that its latest 2-in-1 premium tablet powered by Microsoft Windows 10, the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S, is available to pre-order online ahead of the device going on general sale on Thursday 17th March.

By combining the most popular laptop features in a perfectly portable tablet form, the Galaxy TabPro S caters to those seeking the perfect multi-functional device to fit into their busy lives. Delivering full PC functionality with Windows 10 in a sleek design and with enhanced fast charging features meaning the Galaxy TabPro S can fully charge in just 2.5 hours and offers up to 10.5 hours of work and play; it is ideal for people looking for a device they can use in all aspects of their life.

"Interest in the Galaxy TabPro S since we announced at CES has been remarkable and we are hugely excited to be offering people the chance to pre order this innovative device ahead of it going on general sale on 17th March. We believe this product balances the best of Samsung's Galaxy Tab range with the wealth of features on the Windows 10 operating system for the most advanced 2-in-1 experience on the market," said Conor Pierce, Vice President, IT and Mobile, Samsung UK.

Designed to be easily carried, the Galaxy TabPro S features a sleek, lightweight form at just 6.3 millimetres thin and weighing 693 grams. Delivering the very first Super AMOLED display for Windows to the market, the 12-inch Galaxy TabPro S also features a multi-touch screen and a deeper colour contrast with 94 percent true colour reproduction for a best-in-class viewing experience, whether you're watching videos or flicking through photos. Plus, with the ability to stream Xbox One games to your Galaxy TabProS, you can quite literally take your gaming places.

A fully equipped keyboard cover, which comes included with the device enhances the usability with the keyboard's flexible hinge allowing for optimal, dual-angle viewing for the clearest display when used as a desktop or a tablet. What's more, the Pogo pin on the Galaxy TabPro S keyboard eliminates the need for pairing or charging separately. The keyboard's touchpad mirrors that of a PC to provide easy control, even when used in Stand Mode.

The Galaxy TabPro S delivers Samsung's advanced technology to maximise performance and power efficiency. It is the first 2-in-1 device, powered by Windows 10, to support LTE Cat 6 (* LTE SKU only) for the fastest and most advanced connected experience. For power-driven performance, the Galaxy TabPro S is equipped with the latest generation Intel Core M processor, designed for a fanless 2-in-1 tablet, featuring only 4.5W of power consumption to eliminate fan noise disruption and maximise efficiency.

  • Good. Surface isn't available in my country, but Samsung and Apple both have a good presence. I hope I'll see more people getting this over the ipad and macs when it makes it over here.
  • Yeah that would be awesome
  • iPad is another category, its a tablet. This is a  2 in 1 detachable, and this market will be dominated by Windows OS in 75% by 2020 according to IDC Microsoft is very strong with their desktop OS, however not the same can be said about mobile.
  • Do you remember the prediction they made for Windows Phone? Posted via the Windows Central App for Android

  • If its crap. Go buy apple or android. Nobody is forcing it down ur throat. Whingebag
  • The 2-in-1 is a bit of a trade off I'm sure, but if you need portability and desktop processing power at the same time, this may be a good choice. If its apps you are complaining about though, thats not really the fault of the form factor. As they become more and more ubiquitous, we'll start seeing more tablet friendlysoftware. Just yesterday Opera updated their desktop app to have a tablet mod and I love using it now.

  • Is great to see Samsung picked up Windows OS for a Galaxy product in 2016, this is a great designed product and I think is great for students and professionals and as Microsoft says this is a tool that helps you to do things, not just to see them.
  • It is nice to see, indeed. I would imagine that if the Windows 10 Mobile begins to show promise in the next couple of years, they may provide a W10M version of their phone. That would be great. I'm not counting on it, just sayin'.
  • That would be awesome.
  • Still nothing on the stylus? How well the pen functions will decide whether I'll get this or not.
  • It sure would be nice to see a Galaxy S7 running Windows Mobile.
