  • The Scourge Invasion World of Warcraft: Shadowlands event is now live.
  • Players can defend their faction's capital cities and try to rescue their leaders.
  • World of Warcraft: Shadowlands launches on November 23.

Players eagerly awaiting the release of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands on November 23 can start experiencing the latest expansion's story now.

The Scourge Invasion pre-patch event kicked off on November 10, introducing a new quest chain, daily quests, loot, and a world boss. The Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner has defeated the Lich King Bolvar Fordragon, unleashing the Scourge on Azeroth once more.

Players will defend either Stormwind City or Orgrimmar from the undead forces, though they may also succumb to a zombie bite and become monsters themselves with their own abilities. Zombies can communicate among each other and are free to attack both Horde and Alliance players.

Sylvanas and the Jailer, the new big boss of Shadowlands, have also began abducting Horde and Alliance leaders and taking them to the realm of the dead. In the first week you'll be looking into these disappearances and fighting Sylvannas' favorite lieutenant, Nathanos Blightcaller. Next week, a new set of quests will unlock centering on helping the Argent Dawn deal with the invading Scourge.
