Sea of Thieves 'Cursed Sails' event extended by a week
Cursed Sails will go on.

Sea of Thieves is an exploration-based pirate game which launched on March 20, 2018. Rare is known for many famous franchises including Banjo-Kazooie, Conker, and GoldenEye. However, in recent years, the team focused on developing Kinect games for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Today, Rare issued another patch for Sea of Thieves which fixes some of the problems which were introduced with the "Cursed Sails" expansion. The Cursed Sails event is being extended by a week to give more players the opportunity to acquire the exclusive cosmetic items. You can read about the major tweaks and known issues below.
Fixes
- Players who can only play during fixed times will be able to battle for a different region each week.
- Multiple server and client crash fixes. Further improvements on Xbox One and Windows 10 are ongoing.
- Fleet Protectors of the Ancient Isles Commendation now unlocks correctly.
Problems
- The Kraken is still disabled due to performance issues.
Cursed Sails debuts terrifying skeleton ships and more new content alongside a time-limited campaign. Pirate dominion over the waters is being challenged by crews of skeletons, united by their warped desire for vengeance on the living. Each region will be called out, so prepare to fight to protect your favorite outposts.
Be sure to download the update today if you play Sea of Thieves. Hopefully aggressive post-launch support will attract even more players to the game. The title is currently available through various retailers and Xbox Game Pass.

I mean, I don't get why they'd ever take it out. Skeleton ship battles are cool. Just leave them in. And bring back the Hungering Deep too. This game is a blast but it makes zero sense to invest months of resources into making campaign content just to forever remove them weeks later.

Megalodons are still in the game and Skeleton Ship battles will remain in the game, confirmed by Joe Neate 👍

They really should be clearer about what's permanent and what's not.
