Skype Qik lets you replace text conversations with instant video messaging [Update: it's live!]

Microsoft is expanding the number of apps made by its Skype team today with the Skype Qik video messaging app, designed specifically for mobile devices running on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The app is scheduled to launch today for all three platforms.

So what is Skype Qik? Basically, it's a way to send quick video messages to friends that may or may not be online at the time, instead of the real time video chats that are supported by the regular Skype app. Microsoft says:

"It's easy to swap video messages with groups of friends and show everyone what's happening down at the pub, catch up on the latest gossip, or make everyone jealous with your thrift shopping finds. But don't worry, your silly videos won't live on for all eternity and come back to haunt you. Each video lasts exactly 2 weeks. And if you send a message by mistake, or don't like the video, don't panic! You can erase any video you've sent from the chat, whether it's been watched it or not. If you don't want to receive messages from someone, you have the ability to block contacts on Android and Windows Phone. This feature will be available on iPhone in the coming months."

In addition, the iOS and Android versions support Qik Flik, a way to record and send quick five second videos. This feature will be added to Windows Phone in the coming months. Skype Qik is currently not available for download as of this writing but we will update this post when it becomes available.

What do you think about the premise behind Skype Qik?

Update: The app listing is now live, download away!

  • Sweet, for WP out of the gate ;-)
  • I take that back - it's gimped from the start. No Qik Flik for WP. Ugggg!
  • No blocking for Iphone too.....
    Be happy
  • And no blocking on the IPhone version. How about takin that up on Microsoft's user voice site... WP users complain too much. Yes,I too am a WP user.
  • If Apple was the one making it, they wouldn't gimp their own platform and tell everyone that it's okay because another platform happens to be gimped in a different way.
  • When Apple makes apps for other platforms would be the day...
  • iTunes. QuickTime. - PC market, but they still don't prioritize Windows just because the "numbers are greater".
  • To ruin the joke, I mean apps on phones. Besides Apple isn't really a software and services business like MSFT, I think of them more days as hardware focused despite the lack of variety in said hardware.
  • Well, Microsoft is a hybrid company with a diversity of divisions, including ones that deal in hardware. Just because the current engineer in charge is more aligned with the cloud services, doesn't make it good business to sabotage the hardware divisions.  I've never advocated exclusivity of all products, but there should never be a time when Microsoft's own brands see a feature "in the coming months" behind the competition.
  • To be honest, MSFT has nearly always been a software and services company, only most recently (early 2000s) have they really pushed into hardware; consumer especially. As for the lack of parity, I think of it more as a foot in the door. As well as is if the core experience there, is the feature that is missing that important hold release? To rather have something than nothing at all. You can't improve nor innovate for something not there.
  • ONE APP to rule them all! Integrate Qik and Xim (Microsoft Research) into Skype. No need for separate apps.
  • Skype's Developer Team for Windows Phone always slow...
  • Should have been integrated into the app itself...why a separate app altogether??
  • Thank you! My thoughts exactly! Should be integrated into Skype. MSFT has too many apps & programs that do the about same thing! We have skype, GroupMe, yammer, Lync, now Skype qik. I thought this function was already available on Skype desktop & W8 Skype app? One (go to) app with all these amazing functions will fantastic
  • Agreed. I'm sick of the trend of parsing out every feature into separate apps. Swarm and Foursquare, Facebook and Messenger, Skype and Qik (dumb name too). So absurd. Not a good trend. Anyway, more frustrating is this "This feature [already on iOS and Android] will be added to Windows Phone in the coming months" and this: the fact that a Widnows Phone got about 3 seconds of screen time in the ad above while iOS and Android devices were shown prominently. I have no problem with this app coming to all platforms, but for Pete's sake, Microsoft, you can at least product placement your own products in your own commercials instead of giving free advertising to your competitors. Ridiculous.
  • This!
Microsoft approach makes me sick to the belly..
I have no idea why "a certain feature" would be available on competition device first before your very own platform... Marketing and Strategic planning are nonexistent at MSFT an insult to all WP User..
UserVoice needs to be used now more than ever
  • This ^^
  • Its because wp8 has some restrictions. Its why certain apps miss some features. I imagine this will be addressed in win 10,
  • What? No it's not. It's gimped because they put less time and effort into windows phone because it has way less users. It's just as capable of running those missing features as its competitors.
  • Look at apps like kik and the number of workarounds whatsapp had to do plus snapchat (yes there's 6snap but even that required some workarounds). There's some elements (APIs or whatever) that aren't yet on windows phone so some features are generally not available. You don't have to be a nonfanboy to see that.
  • So your point is that 3rd parties can figure it out, but Microsoft's division can't walk down the hall and ask how to get it done?
  • Ok, before you start spreading that kind of FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) you need to back it up with actual facts. As in, which restrictions Windows Phone as an OS has that prevents recording and sending five second videos.
If you're only guessing rather than speaking from actual knowledge, you need to say so with an "I assume" or a "maybe". Otherwise you're just proliferating FUD.
  • Seriously ...i dint see the ad myself but going by your description MSFT marketing... Sometimes makes it hard to love MSFT to say the least...
  • You sir, nailed it. I am revolting against this app because Microsoft gives only a rat's ass for its own platform support and I give none. Sick to the bones. All their glory talks about "One Platform, One Windows" now only feels like bullcrap. They will always treat their own as third class citizens. I have a feeling Microsoft management is not only less feminist, but more and more sadistic.
  • I agree, this is another why MSFT is failing. But on the other hand, WP users should be used to MSFT not respecting them. W10 better be good or this boat sinks.
  • You are a fanboy. Microsoft is a business. iOS has over 200M active users. Android has over 200M active users. WP has less than 20M active users. Sorry, but if you owned a business you will be pragmatic about it too.  But you do not own a business. You are a fanboy. So, complain on.  I see nothing wrong with Microsoft's approach. They are a business after all.
  • Sure, as long as they don't mind me buying an iPhone next, and an iMac. And an iPad. And while l'm at it I will also replace all my company hw and SW by apple stuff. And of course I will still use excel and Word, which probably run smoother on the apple platform anyway. Sigh, this way Microsoft may just as well pull the plug on WP, surface products and telephone hw tomorrow. With this way of operating I don't see any reason for anyone to switch from android or ios to WP. I have stopped promoting Wp to friends and family, all actions of Microsoft point toward an 'abandon ship' sooner rather than later. What a shame. They obviously intend to make money through their services for all platforms. I don't see any economic reason for them to keep their own WP platform alive. They can make more money by making their services available for ios and android.
  • ^ This If you make your competition more compelling, and treat your own like the red-headed stepchild, then your platform is heading down a slippery slope. I probably wouldn't recommend WP to anyone myself now, you'd get a better experience with MS stuff on iOS or Android.
  • You know nothing about business. Look at Apple to Windows numbers. Do they release iTunes and Quicktime and Safari with better features on Windows because of "marketshare"? Obviously not.  Does Google give Chrome on Windows more features than on their own Chromebook? Um...no.  They are engaged in what is called product differentiation, because they want their own brands to flourish.  According to you, Apple isn't a business because Final Cut Pro isn't released for Windows 8. You are correct about one thing and that is that Microsoft is a business. People point that out as if their point is automatically valid.  They are a business that has various business divisions. You don't sacrifice one to appease the competition.  With social and communication applications, it makes total sense to include all of the major platforms, but INCLUDE ALL; FEATURE YOUR OWN, should be the mantra.  Microsoft should never, EVER release a Windows Phone version that doesn't have, at least, complete feature parity with Android and iOS.  Because, obviously...Microsoft is a business.
  • Does the name effect how you use it no. I'd like to see you name it.
  • If you name something and people don't immediately know how to pronounce it, then you've failed.
  • Then I guess after all, making apps for WP is more complicated or time consuming than ios and droid
  • I can say that I don't use Facebook but I use their messaging service. So, at least for that one I like the decoupled.
  • In time I'm sure it will be, but just look at Facebook and Facebook messenger.
  • Yes, exactly! Well said.
  • That was my question.
  • It kinda is isn't it? I mean you can send video messages now... what's the difference?
  • Yeah, wtf. Just make Skype better and faster.
  • I think qik is like vine or line, they use your phone number as your identity.
  • It's separate from the Skype app because it doesn't use your Skype ID. Instead, your identity is your phone number (like in WhatsApp and Viber). When you first launch the app, you register your phone number. Then the system sends you a code via SMS. You then enter that code into the app to verify your phone number.
  • You knw Microsoft has this stupid habit of making different apps which could have been better together(may be they want to boost store apps) eg panaroma, camera, selfie, refocus, blink and so on could have been different modes of a single app. But ms likes to create too much complexity and confusion. I hope they realise soon and unify similar things. There is need of too much switching to and from.
  • microsoft wants the phone numbers of ppl, thats why seperate... but i think in the future they will fuse original skype and skype qik into one
  • I am still getting "loading" screen everytime I open the app. Did this became Skype trademark. And it also shows resuming screen when I do some switching between apps. Seriously fucked up quality
  • Was thinking same thing. Even while downloading the app i was scared that loading problem might come along since its from the best developer team for windows:Skype
  • Searching in the WP store is not working though... Looked for it without the link and couldn't find it or just Skype, or a anything by using search. Also it's not on Android yet. Just checked
  • No offense meant, but why the hell does this app exist? We've been able to send short videos though the Skype WP app since 8.0
  • Guys comment here and ASK/BEG Skype team to make best things for us windows phone users. http://blogs.skype.com/2014/10/14/skype-qik-keeps-you-connected-between-...
  • This app is a fail already. I tried using it with my friends who all have Icon's. Since the icon didn't get the update yet, this app is not compatable with their devices.
  • Bit disappointing the Flik feature isn't on WP. I understand why iOS and Android get priority though.
  • What are you talking about.  It will release today on IOS, Android and WP.  Did you read and watch the video?  The day isn't over.
  • Did you read the article?
  • Did you actually read the article?
  • In Russia, the article reads you.
  • lol
  • Lol
  • Lol
  • Love it when people comment without reading the article or the comment properly. Does everyone fail to understand that MS are primarily a services business therefore iOS and Android take priority as it means they reach a larger number of people. That is good for Microsoft. The app might have been developed on a tight schedule and therefore the WP app is getting certain features a little later but at least it has the app. Most of you just need to get a grip frankly.
  • And what about windows phone? If Microsoft is not ready to give first preference to wp then why would other developers do? This is the we wp user's don't have most official apps and the most number of beta aaps
  • If you make your own platform walk, talk, and feel like a second rate OS guess what, people will think that's what it is. There's no reason they couldn't release the WP version at feature parity with the others apart from the fact that Microsoft as a company doesn't care about WP and that results in a sub par experience for us, it's users. And I don't see any good reason why we don't also deserve to enjoy Microsoft's services fully.
  • Microsoft also has other businesses that need support. Neglecting their own assets because they are "primarily a services company", is a recipe for devaluing and destroying their property brands. What competitive advantage does this 'Android/iOS 1st" strategy give Microsoft's own mobile platform? The answer is none, because if you want the best of Microsoft apps, you will find them on Android/iOS, not on the Microsoft platform. Someone does need to get a grip, but the target of your snark is off.
  • If Joe Belfiore didn't publicly state on Twitter that MS did NOT see WP users as second class citizens then you might have a point.
  • Right, because he would say otherwise.
  • So basically, MS is suggesting we all switch to iPhone if we want the best support. I get why they do it, I also get why they can't attract users to their platform when even as the owner of the platform they cant give top support to it. If they care about WP usage, then they should support it first. To do anthing else is to basically tell you users they should go elsewhere to get better support.
  • The real question is, did you read? The Flik feature will not be there at launch on WP.
  • Is it so hard to develop for WP? Seriously, every app, regardless if it's released simultaneously with other OS or not, NEVER comes with the latest features! Why?! I mean, it's Flipboard that doesn't flip; an outdated Twitter with no updates in a LONG time; Facebook, whilst having bimonthly updates, can't seem to ever catch up; Instagram is a fucking joke; Skype is pathetic and not optimised for older chipsets ('resumes...' a lot on dual-core devices); WhatsApp is slow and lacking. Which brings me to the question at hand: Why is every single app on WP lacking some sort of functionality? Is it that hard to do due some software restriction or people just don't give a shit?
  • Cause WP doesn't have all the APIs available for developers. But I imagine this will change.
  • I'm really buffled by Microsoft's priorities - marketing wise. The ad clearly shows the iPhone and the HTC Android phone as the 'star' instead of Microsoft using a Windows phone to take much of the time! Of course there was the Lumia 1020 - but it was only shown for a few seconds... This goes to show how much support Microsoft is giving to it's Windows Phone devices. /SMH
  • Don't be baffled.  Apple just sold >10 million iPhone 6 devices.  The HTC One is one of the best-looking and most easily-recognized Android phones.  Note that they also used a 1020, which is an iconic WP.  If MS wants this app to be a success they need iOS and Android users to use it.  That is more likely if they actually see someone with "their phone" using it.  It also clearly shows that this is a cross-platform app.  Microsoft has shown again and again in recent months that they want to be successful and relevant on every platform.
  • I see your point, alright. In a marketing perspective of advertising your own brand, it's always better to show to the audience your own brand/product first before giving priorities to your competitors'. That's marketing 101. Have you guys installed the app yet? Have you seen the intro video of the app? No where is there a Windows Phone shown in there. Only iPhones and Android phones. But hey, whatever makes MS happy indeed!
  • Yes there is. At 0:52, you can clearly see an ATIV SE.
  • ...But their own
  • They are also communicating loud and clear that for the best experience with MS products, you should not use WP.
  • thats right but they should properly promote windows phone too.
  • It makes no sense showing off the brand new iphone 6 and then show the chunky 1020.. Even Pocketnow does a better job at promoting Windows Phone... ridiculous...
  • I'm a Windows Phone user as well. I will watch the video in a few ,but it would make sense. Appeal to the majority will have the app take off. All will be well for Windows Phone growth next year... Just stay positive. :)
  • It actually doesn't make sense. Would Apple demo iTunes on an HP? Windows are far more popular. That's counterintuitive to promoting the growth of your own brand.
  • Read Chris_Kez's comment.
  • But what's the "brand"?  This is Skype.  It's a Skype app.  MS may own Skype, but they've made a video to promote a new cross-platform Skype app.  It lets you communicate with iOS, Android and Windows Phone phones.  So, yeah, it seems like a sensible thing to actually show people using it on those types of phones.
  • Showing the app on the three plaforms is ok. But giving more exposure to the iPhone and the Android phone, rather than its own, isn't reasonable at all. The least that they should've done, if their message was indeed cross-platform,was give each platform the same exposure time. Anyways, I rest my case. The animosity among developers, inside Microsoft's own turf is reeking with displeasure. There's no common goal. More like, to each his own.
  • Show all, feature your own.
  • Next year, as in "soon"?
  • Agreed - how can they ask carriers, developers, and consumers to take WP seriously when they don't? Thanks Microsofot, for controbuting to the "app gap."
  • I am glad people like you don't work for Microsoft or anything. really... it's an Ad.... that's all. and you are saying Microsoft doesn't take serious WP becuase of that? lol please... stop being so DRAMATIC, Microsoft have users in many platforms. there is NO reason Microsoft should put ALWAYS Windows Phone first. I mean it's people like you the ones that make a company fail... it's different if we talk about Xbox, or Office, but Skype? Skype is even on smartTVs. and only becuase they don't show the damn Windows Phone on 99% of the ad, they are not taking it seriously? what about the futures you have gone in your phone the last two years with WP8? what about Windows 10 being on Phone and Tablets and Desktop?... again stop being DRAMATIC, it's an Ad, and you and other look stupid, complaining about some seconds of the phone, like if other platforms didn't matter, when Microsoft it's first a service company. it's the same people like YOU, the idiots who complained about the Prison Skype phone, having a Mac laptop on it.   but you can't even spell Microsoft well, so what do I expect from someone like you? read again what you wrote, do you not think it sounds idiotic and dramatic? comparing how Developers have no right to support Windows Phone, because Microsoft doesn't show the Skype Qik app on a Windows Phone more seconds than the others? oh god.....
  • OK, idiot, how would you solve the app gap? How can Microsoft, with any sense of credibility, ask developers to develope for WP when they put other platforms first? Microsoft Office Touch, anyone? Oh, and all of those great features on Cyan, waiting for them, probably will not see them, on my Lumia Icon. It's idiotic thought like what you expressed that keeps Microsoft in 3rd place in the mbile platform marketplace. I love releasing apps for all 3 platforms, but seriously, go the extra mile and don't shortchange your own platform.
  • I'd say that I'm glad that you don't work for MS, but your mindset seems to be fully represented there. How does a company communicate features/benefits to the masses? Ads. Therefore ads are an important. representation of corporate priorities. Show all; Feature your own. Thank you for your ironic calling of others idiotic and dramatic. That was on purpose, right?
  • I'm pretty sure we are going to be biatching about the **iPhone/Droid first over WP support from Microsoft itself** issue until the day we die. It will probably never, ever go away, and that sucks. I absolutely detest this lack of priority to one's own home team, Microsoft-to-Windows Phone. And then, at the same time, the argument is getting old too. I understand you have to go where the money is, and that is what this is all about. WP is just too small a slice of the money-pie. This is a double edged sword, for lack of WP-first support doesn't help either. This non-support occurence is no surprise whatsoever. It's not the first, and won't be the last. We as Windows Phone users just have to suck it up, shake our heads, and get over it. No use crying over it, we're wasting our time and tears.

  • Except when the owner of the Windows Phone brand doesn't give it equal treatment, no one will. Conceding that iOS/Android is where the numbers are only self propels that momentum. It's shocking that basic marketing, business and economics are lost on so many.
  • Great, but Skype already has an option to send videos
  • Yes but this is "Qik"er
  • Aw snap!
  • Group messaging appears to be the distinguishing feature
  • Simplicity / ease of use Uses mobile number instead of account/password You can edit or delete videos after sharing Videos auto-delete after 2 weeks
  • Right, and why not fold it all into the Skype app?
  • Because you have to sign into Skpe/have an account. Skype Qik uses your phone number and that is indeed Qik-er.
  • Still don't see how they couldn't make it into one app. Pointless to me.
  • So it can be fast.  It doesn't have to load everything you need for Skype or you dont' need to select the Qik feature.  You pin the tile and you are in the app doing what it does.  It is a great app.  Easy to use and loads quickly....errrr...qikly.
  • You can scream Mobile First, Cloud First untill you are blue in the face. But developing apps for competitors first makes absolutely no sense to me. And when they do come to Windows Phone they are second rate as if they let interns create it. They should develop for every platform but not at the expense of their own. That really hurts the confidence in WP. First Office Sway, now this. Next thing you know Cortana 2.0 will be available on iOS first because..you know..they have more users.
  • The more this happens with newer releases, the more obvious out is that even Windows Phone 8/8.1 isn't mature enough to get feature parity out of the gate. The only solace is Windows 10 III bringing all the APIs and extensibility Devs need in order to make these apps quickly and efficiently. Either that or their are more, better features in tow for WP and the simultaneous release would cut air from under its wings... Maybe? This is far too annoying to continually have happen when having faith in the platform.
  • What makes you think Windows 10 will make any difference? Hasn't Microsoft already been claiming you can share the majority of code across the PC and WP? Nothing to wait for, Microsoft flat out doesn't care about WP.
  • Windows as a mobile platform was "late" in the game so they cannot play being the bad and close guy here. They need to attract as much people as they can from everywhere. As chrome Brower did when it was release. And now look how big it is.
  • They don't need to be the "bad and close guy" here. They just need to: (1) ensure that every app they release has a competitive version released simultaneously on their own mobile OS (2) demonstrate that is true in their advertising. They need to make sure people understand it's on iOS and Android, but they also need to not minimize the fact that their own platform is competitive with those. This should be obvious.
  • "This app is available for iOS and Android, but where it really shines is on Windows Phone, where you can also __________________." The platform has enough developers making the other platforms appear better. MS should be at the forefront of changing that perception. But instead ...
  • 100% agree. Someone understands marketing and internal brand support.
  • When Microsoft can't be bothered to release apps or app features in parity with other OSes on Windows Phone, why should third-party developers? They are nailing their own coffin.
  • Exactly.
  • Exactly
  • If anything windows should get the +1 or more features over the other guys.
  • that's how every company works except Microsoft.
  • "This feature will be added to Windows Phone in the coming months." Not again.
  • Ouch.
  • "This feature will be added to iPhone in the coming months"
    Missed this?
  • WP Skype Team time to real World time:
Coming months is the equivalent to "9 Months starting today" pretty sad to see windows phone users being treated 2nd class citizens again, by Microsoft!
  • Messenger by Facebook it's honestly the best messaging app. The best implementation of video messaging I've ever seen. So seamless.
  • +720
  • And the best privacy concern ever!
  • What are you babbling about now?
  • Agreed. FB Messenger works best on Windows. I agree that if you are looking for a private solution it's not for you, but for most of us who just want to message to friends about schedules and stuff, it works VERY well. Whatsapp works well too, but the fact that it can only be installed on one device and does not store the messages on the server kill it for me. I would rather give up a bit of privacy in this case for the much better cross device functionality.
  • Why not just integrate it into Skype?
  • ^
  • It's a strategy. Like separating Messenger from the main Facebook.
  • Me likey
  • Definitely feeling the vibe.
  • I hate that fb did that. I also hate that fb chat isn't in my messages anymore. That was so easy and seamless.
  • Qik Flik soon...
I am seriously going to go back to Android and HTC if Microsoft don't do things right. Hopefully Windows 10 changes my mind enough to make me stay
  • You can use OneDrive to store and stream your Skype Qik videos.  Start centralizing your data.
  • I love OneDrive and use it a lot. I know the value of Microsoft services and been using them since '04, but they aren't even taking their platform seriously. I mean, look at Skype, Xbox Music(even current version isn't as good as the Android/iOS one), no Xbox Live support from their own end (MCPE was shown to have no Xbox Live support), no inbuilt flash, stopwatch, timer, or even a clock app. On top of that, the MS android and iOS apps (Most apps in general) have more features than the WP counterpart. Office isn't up to the mark. I know there are more advantages than these disadvantages I've listed, but if MS doesn't support their own platform, then what to do?
  • I don't know what is the interest of this app.... We can send video message offline to a contact on sKype;..;
  • The difference is this can send to groups also
  • Nice, but what's up with these weird names lately? XIM, Qik...
  • They are indian.
  • Nope
  • Qik was actually a start up that Skype bought a few years ago.  It was one of the first companies to offer video messaging/sharing on mobile devices.
  • So many good questions here. Why isn't flik out at the same time for windows phone? Why isn't it just integrated into Skype? Such things make us lose faith.
  • Why windows phone isn't the main phone of the video???
  • Because Microsoft has Steering amateur and without vision, when Microsoft appreciates itself, there is no reason to wait with the others rated him,
  • It is available for download. I just did.
    http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appId=e145af3f-2aab-4e78-8699-ce948e26d27f
  • You sir are correct, thank you.
  • Thanx mate
  • Really....how hard is it to implement and test qik flik on windows phone as well. So aggravating. Love the WP platform, been on it since 2010 launch and never left. Getting tired of being last and holding my breath
  • You got one point, I'm starting to feel the same. I'm with them since 2012. The platform is getting better but I'm considering an iPhone as soon as I get rid of my Icon contract.
  • Hear hear!
  • same shit different day.
  • AS PER USUAL - a skype app for WP releaed lacking features from its competitors android and ios. Seriously wonder why the skype team just doesnt announce they are ending support for WP once and for all. What a total bunch of absolute TWATS!!!
  • At least it launched at the same time. Will be fun to watch on what features we WP users are missing out over the next 6 months.
  • Let them say "it's coming soon" for the next two years
  • Coming soon...
  • Can't see me ever using the app, but once again Microsoft leaves it's own os behind. "Like Microsoft services? Go Android or IOS and get them first and better" Should be their slogan, poor marketing but at least it's the truth.
  • At least you can see the App, not available in my region yet!!!! (Europe)
  • Dean, I'm in the UK. It's not available if search for it in the store but its available by following the link in the article.
  • Geez MS. You could teach a course on how to sabotage your own platform.
  • Lol
  • Yeah, and it all begins and ends with their leadership. #ImpeachNadella should be our war cry!
  • I have been with windows phone since the launch and got my friends and family to make the switch. I fight it's corner constantly... and for what? I'm getting fed up!
  • There is no way I would feel comfortable being a WP evangelist. I love it and use it, but I have absolutely no faith that Microsoft will have enough faith in their own superior product to make it a success. So I just let those around me buy Android and wish that Microsoft gave a rat's ass.
  • Another Snapchat rip off.  I have no interest in either services.  It's great to see Windows Phone support from day 1 though.  It is Skype/Microsoft, so I would hope they would show their own platform some love.
  • Windows Phone keep getting things at a later date. This needs to change and especially when it's coming straight from Microsoft.
  • It's here! http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=e145af3f-2aab-4e78-8699-ce948e26d27f
  • Get your shit together MS!
  • I don't see the point of this application, from my perspective of course. I'm happy with Skype and won't install this side-kick gadget.
  • Wow Skype giving priority to android and ios instead for wp. I thought this app would be available for wp and then after for android and ios.
  • Exactly the reason Google isn't interested in making apps for Win Phone 8
  • Looks good.....i think I'll give it a try.
  • Its available for download...
  • lol microsoft is so hilarious
  • Very cool
  • I had enough of this. Looking at this kind of situation happen and happen again. Windows Phone will never get pass or catch up with iOS and Android. Why is it so hard to put Windows Phone at highest priority or same level with iOS and Android? A lot of apps are coming to windows phone, but slower or later. Microsoft isn't showing the correct example how can they expect developers to jump onto their platform before iOS and Android? I'm losing faith with Microsoft. I love Windows Phone since day one. But it's like your love one just keep on disappointing you. I had enough of this shit! I had decided to switch to iOS. I hope Microsoft can wake up before it's too late. Goodbye. This will be the last time I read news on wpcentral, going to iMore. I will switch to iPhone. If Microsoft can make a come back in future, I will definitely come back to Microsoft ecosystem again. It's a tough decision.
  • Bye man. Won't be missed. Can you explain what happened now?
  • MS serve other platforms better than their own. Simple as that. Want the best of Apple? Use an iPhone. Want the best of Google? Use an Android phone. Want the best of MS? Don't use a WP. Devs aren't ever going to prioritize for WP when the company that make the OS don't. I don't know what Quik Flik offers but taking months to add this features probably means any other updates down the line will also be delayed on WP.
  • This guy gets it! Glad I've got my iPhone because my 1520 is now just a toy/media device. And it still lacks in that front compared to my iPhone. In all seriousness though, my 1520 has become more of a party joke/punch line than anything else.
  • I feel you about leaving but not because of an app it doesn't have. Good luck at Imore.  I may be joining you soon.
  • I don't get it...why Microsoft???it's not the fact of making a bad or good application it's the fact you still ignore your main audience...how you want us to support you when you support others first!!
  • I don't understand the need for this capability.  Who actually sends quick videos to a person instead of text?  Nobody I know does this.  This is a solution in search of a problem.
  • Nice point of view. This is the main problem of tgis app in fact
  • Maybe "the kids are doing it"? I'm with you... other than sending my wife a quick video of our boy at bedtime if she's not there (which I already do over Skype), I don't see a big need.
  • The world does not equal you and your friends  :)
  • I hate MS more and more Never trust them with there products
  • Verge reported this as the link to the WP version...Skype Qik Windows Phone: http://t.co/agyNrSvGqZ
  • Thanks, installing.....
    ;-)
  • Sooo.... Snapchat.
  • We want social network integration, we want to see an option to send a video message through this app from any contact page + other apps promised to be integrated when cyan is installed on most WP devices...
So it's time for twitter, facebook, and other apps to get the significant and, exclusive feature
  • Exactlt. We're all waiting with a poor user experience instead of enjoying all the OS possibilities.
  • Sounds like you want an Android or an iPhone. WP will ALWAYS lag behind. Especially with MS sabotaging themselves, as per usual. They need new blood in their, in a bad way!
  • Nanoware fb messamger is a serious invasion of your privacy
  • Oh no! Facebook knows what movie I just saw! It's outrageous!! Seriously, anything truly private simply shouldn't be done over Facebook messenger (or just about any other app on your phone). Problem solved. That maybe would be 0.001% of my communications that I would rate that way though.
  • Didn't snap chat have all kinds of legal issues? I don't even understand the concept of disappearing digital media. It will never disappear....NSA is always watching and recording...
  • Sounds sort of interesting. I'm kind of concerned about data usage though.
  • Funny how MS tried to convince devs that WP is the easiest to develop for... yet MS acts as if it's the most difficult.
  • How much is the recording time of a message...
  • Skype still needs to improve its text and photo messaging services for WP..
  • I like it
  • so that means the wp skype will bd removed if yes then good. coz pc Skype rocks
  • Can't be installed on SD card :/
  • Not Really Qik related but to Skype for Windows Phone. Afaik there is no Group Chat notification but why I am getting notifications for Group chat? Correct me if I am wrong I haven't read any articles about the Group chat Notifications.
  • I don't understand people. They aren't just holding off on a feature for WP but for IOS as well. Not just us so quit complaining so much. At least the app is released for us on time.
  • Because Microsoft should step up and LEAD in support of their own platform. A Microsoft brand should never get 2nd Class treatment from another internal brand. At this point we have nothing but a UI to differentiate. Other than that, if you want Microsoft's best stuff, you'll find it on the competitions' platforms.
  • Why not just put these features in the main Skype app? I don't want to download yet another damn app!
  • Nope nope nope. This is very frustrating. Everyone complains about the official Skype app on Windows Phone so what do they? Not touch it and create a totally new app based around video messaging, which Skype already does. Microsoft needs to stop wasting time on "me too" apps like this and Xim that came out last week and I almost forgot about already.
  • Snazrael you're right bro....
  • It crashes on my 1520
  • not on mine
  • Only for 8.1 huh? ICON blues....
  • Is it faster than the skype app?
  • What are the features missing for windows phone?
  • This app can't be installed to an SD card...... What the heck, I don't like this new trend. And from a company selling a 4GB phone that should know better.
  • lag a lot in my Lumia 635... uninstaling....
  • Keeps crashing on my 920 when choosing contact to send to... havent even managed to send one yet
  • I seriously hate reading the comments on wpcentral. All it is is complaining. Hey look at that, I'm adding to the trend.
  • Exactly bro! I just posted a comment about how many comments are gonna end up being complaints... Smh.
  • Am I the only one who is getting told to try enter my number again every time, even though it's obviously my correctly entered number?
  • Back of iPhone and the Ive-alike voice over and the iOS-like app look and feel... I was pretty sure I was watching an Apple thing. Weird.
  • Remember when you could delete emails even after you sent them to people? Seems like that is coming back in different ways.
  • Seems Qiker :D
  • This app version shows 1.1.0.7. I wonder this app was available in beta
  • Installing to rate 1 star. Hah that should give MS something to think about before releasing handicapped app (compared to other platforms).
  • I'm sure they're shaking in their boots... they will probably call you personally to negotiate you taking down your poor review. :D
  • Hahaha lmbo
  • I wonder how many comments will there be complaining about the Qik Flik feature missing from WP for the time being? Just grab the app people. Just grab the app... Sigh.
  • Can't grab the app, it's in the phone..lol
  • Strangest list of contacts I have ever seen,  any idea where it pulls contacts from?  It appears to have pulled about 60% of my contacts.  Funny that it does not just show the SMS number for the contact.  if you have a home, mobile, work, and fax number for someone they show up 4 times, once for each number????? using a 928 and developers preview minus Cyan (thanks to Verizon).
  • As usual, WP gets a version with minimal features.
  • Why an extra App for everything?
  • It's possible this isn't using the same back end services as Skype uses? Since Skype bout Qik previously, it's possible it's using it's own back end services. This doesn't seem to require a Skype Account / Microsoft Account to use either. Still, I agree it's annoying to have a separate app just for this, but at this point maybe it's not even really "Skype" in anything but name?
  • That makes a lot of sense, actually.
  • Just downloaded it and I love it.Already used it with my kids
  • Okay, this is going to be a general purpose rant, and not specific to this article. I can probably predict some of the negative responses, but here goes. I am so tired of the large percentage of negative, "the sky is falling", "I'm jumping to Android", "I'm going back to iPhone" comments you folks spit out. Are you never happy? No matter what or how much Microsoft does, you always bitch that it's not enough, that they don't take their own platform seriously. Give it a rest! Windows Phone is an awesome platform. Is it perfect? No. Are there features that would make it better? Yes. Are there improvements that could be made to may of the Apps. Of course. Think about it, though. Look at how many features that have been standard to WP for quite some time, that are becoming "new innovations" on the iPhone or copied on Android phones. Microsoft is moving in the right direction. A unified OS across all platforms will be huge and great for developers. Building apps across all platforms will make the transition from iPhone or Android to WP that much easier. Give it time, folks.
  • its not about the whining or the innovation.....windows mobile had the chance to capture the mobile market back then and they blew it which is now being dominiated by android and IOS and its the truth fan or not.....its about setting an example....why would someone buy a windows phone for microsoft sevices when there are better versions of them on rival platforms....you might argue about live tiles and other hubs and shit...but the truth is they MS want to have their services used by everyone not their hardware(not top priority) cause windows phone 8.x resembles more windows 8  than anything...its a good thing but apparently people had the wrong impression. they just dont see any harm in investing their profits on this platform....and clearly they are not setting good example if they dont exactly invest their resources/apps on their platform to its rivals....and this seperate app is bullshit...this is glorious oppurtunity to improvise skype with new features since it hasnt been exactly a hit with instant messaging....MS is trudging the wrong path here and they will sink if they dont realize it before its too late. and wp users have every right to be irritated/annoyed by this example of not prioritizing their platform and they will....in the world of tech if you dont keep with trends then you are dead...and believe me coming soon(TM) does appear to be the trademark of doom for windows phone bro...
  • MS is slow...we know this...but its not about Windows Phone OS really for me - main complaint from many users is about the lack of and quality of apps...and I'm sure MS knows this...There should be noooooooooo feature parity between OSes for MS apps unless it benefits their own ecosystem...but that's just my opinion. And this unified OS needs to be AMAZING, I mean iOS/Android L KILLER AMAZING...doubt many people are going to wait for multiple updates to see major improvements
  • Unbelievable.... The Skype team should be less worried about this extra and more worried about how to get their app out of the "3 star" range on the ratings. DO THEY ACTUALLY LOOK AT ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS THEY GET ON THE SKYPE APP??? This is Microsoft for crying out loud. It's their own app for their own phone and they can't even get a 4 star rating.
  • What's with the new trend of "can't install to SD" crap?
  • Ya its true Skype already have video message option.. But it allow us to send only to Skype user (friends), its really not a social platform. But qik able to send to any contact in your phone (which will bring more users inside MS platform). User count most valuable than anything, that's y Watsapp valuated more than Nokia...
  • For all the complainers, the app is polished and good. Two words. Stop it.
  • Polished? On Android and iOS, maybe! Haha. We can't make the 5 second Flicks. We can't switch from front to back cameras while recording. Hey...we can block people though. :/
  • I am so sick and tired from this 3rd platform crap. I have been with wp since the start but even MS screws it up.
  •   I'm hating what this ecosystem is becoming more and more every day. How did we end up with a bunch of 6 year olds whining about everything including stuff you don't even have to pay for?? Makes me want to throw my Lumia up against a brick wall.
  • I agree. I feel the maturity level has dropped especially in the comments. But to be fair it is a feature that mentions we have to wait months for while iOS/android gets it right out the bat. And this has happened quite frequently with many apps coming from MS. But when the features does get to WP, usually implementation is really good. Maybe that's why its being postponed, or at least I hope so.
  • Its sickening. And almost without fail, there is always a savior to condemn the condemnation of this incessant whining. And we ask why we can't do better?  I guess its like what my man mentioned in the thread from Louis CK.  Everything is amazing and nobody is happy.  I guess when you look for happiness from a inanimate objects, this is the result. I could very well go phone and ecosystem hunting at this rate.
  • Agreed.  Maybe every WPC article should just include a multiple choice option for people to register all of their usual complaints.  That way we can reserve the comments for things that actually add value. "Please select all that apply": -MS supports other platforms better than WP -Not compatible with 512MB devices -Can't download to SD card -MS should focus on [insert app] instead -Carrier exclusives -Bring back Zune Too expensive (i.e. why isn't everything free, or at least affordable to those without income) -No Trial available -Works better on iOS/Android -Useless (by which I mean I probably won't use it; or I lack the ability to look at things from someone else's perspective)
  • Everything is amazing and nobody is happy - Louie CK
  • There are very valid concerns. Especially if you are invested in the platform and would like to see it supported. When companies like Google treat Windows Phone like a lesser platform that sucks... but it's understandable. When other third parties treat Windows Phone like a lesser platform that sucks... but it's understandable. When Microsoft, the company that is trying to convince developers to make apps for Windows Phone, treats the Windows Phone install base as second class citizens... that's not cool at all. If they are going to make something available for iOS and Android, the very least they could do is also make it for Windows Phone at the same time. Why is Qik Fliks coming in the "coming months"? Is MS signaling to developers that WP is harder to develop for? Or are they signaling that it's not worth developing for?  I know one thing for sure. They are definitely NOT being good examples. Practice what you preach MS.  Joe Belfiore said that MS definetly didn't see WP users as second class citizens. What a crock. Thanks for the straight up lie Joe. But at least you got a promotion.
  • We are hating the ecosystem that is falling apart from neglect, by its supposed caretaker. People should be mad when Microsoft treats its own in a second class way. There is whining just to whine and then there are serious concerns as to whether the current leadership of MS has a clue. This isn't whining about a feature. This is a strong concern about priorities. I take that from the perspective of being a user and a shareholder. Fully support Windows Phone (potential revenue) when releasing other (free) apps. Expand the reach by also supporting other platforms, but be first and best on your own. That's constructive critique and I'm not sure why that offends you. I cheer the platform a LOT. I stick up for 3rd party apps when the Cult of Official revs up. Im not bothered by normal use of the word "beta". I despise when people belittle developers efforts by calling their apps "useless" or "pointless". However, when it is a clear action that puts the usability and superior experience on the screens of the competition, I speak out. It's an insult to anyone who talks up their Windows Phone. It's also bad business in the long game. I wouldn't be surprised if current leadership doesn't last that long.
  • Like I said, there are always defenders of those that whine. You can't elevate whining with more of the same. Its whining. Pure and simple. Don't like the product, don't use it. Problem solved. The product works for me.  When it doesn't, I'll move on. Part of this product for me is its ecosystem. I wish it wasn't but having made a good life with Microsoft products, I feel a sense of responsibility to pass it on.  However, like with MySpace this place is filling up with its refugees.  I left Myspace because of it. I'm not far from doing the same here.
  • Well, there's a difference between critique and whining.
  • I think flik will be released with a new skype app in windows 10 later next year when we get true unified apps so people can use it too on windows tablets and pcs.
  • The app isn't working... Couldn't send.. Sending failed!
  • I don't understand why Microsoft prefer other OS than their own...
  • I bet you're wrong lol every MS employee I've met uses a Windows Phone with a few exceptions.
  • Because they are loosing to all the other. Windows as a brand is so forever tainted with poison one might die from just saying it out loud. MSFT needs a rebrand and cover upp and a refocus, or just stop making WP OS. W OS is still to big to be dropped, but give it another 10-15 years when the parents of the next users may start getting there own stuff. MSFT made W8 to stay relevant in the future, I say there failed and the train has gone.... if they don't buy there own, faster train and get serious. I so hate MSFT now, and my self for fooling my friends in to WP.
  • * losing I actually think Satya is trying to slow kill WP and Bing. Unified OS means no wasted work when he swings the ax on phones. Rebranding apps from Bing to MSN, further devalues Bing so that he can more easily brush it away in the next year or two.
  • Doesn't seem like a very useful app, who's going to waist time recording and listening to videos? When texting, a phone call or a real time video conversation (Skype) is much more efficient.
  • Why are you guys always complaining about free services? Live with it!!!
  • So because its free WP users should accept a gimped version? Guess you like using second rate software.
  • If only people knew how to!
  • Still waiting for a fast open Skype... ¬¬
  • Is it "quick" or "kick"?
  • Or maybe "chik" or "cheek"? Like Qi but ending in k
  • If Microsoft's own app Skype can't flik, I don't have any hope that our Flipboard app will ever flip. #secondclasscitizens #MicrosoftsBastardChildCalledWindowsPhone
  • Flipboard has stated numerous times that their WIndows Phone version was designed that way on purpose. Basically, they were trying to make the UI unique. The problem is, no one likes it.
  • I like it. I've actually had iphone users tell me they like it better when I show them it.
  • What is interesting is how Flipboard on Android only flips for me anymore when I am looking for the articles to read.  Once I am in it scrolls through the article.
  • We know that is not what Flipboard is right? Flipboard is flip+board. Otherwise it is just a board. We have Converge and the likes that looks and works nicer than Flipboard. If Microsoft cannot make feature complete apps for their own phone OS, Flipboard, Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Uber, Instagram - should all stay in beta or featureless versions, holding their head up high.
  • Wait. So people only download it for the flipping animations? They don't care about the news aggregating part of the app? What kind of idiots are you defending here? Do you realise how stupid your argument sounds?
  • The "flipping" is the differentiating feature from other news readers. It us also the identifying look and feel. It's even in the name of the app. To abandon that on Windows Phone gives the appearance of another app coming to the platform and dropping features.
  • No matter which way you slice it, dude is whining about an animation missing from an app. That's ridiculous. But defend away!
  • Hell, if that's all people want, gimme a day ill whip up an app that is just a colored page. When you tap it it "flips" to another color... This is the kind of imbecile i assume you want catered to. If there's a market for that, screw it I'm all in!
  • Loved the idea. I hope people start using it
  • Crashes on my 920 right after taking the video. Anyone else having the same problem?
  • Im experiencing the same issue with my 920, thank god im not the only one
  • Hopefully they'll release an update soon to fix this issue.
  • I had crashing as well, on 1020.
  • Skype acts pretty independent from Microsoft, they still have their offices in Cali, and do their own thing.
  • They should all be fired. If ever the server refresh gets complete, just plz fire them.
  • "One Microsoft"... lololol
  • Now the original Skype app is missing
  • Ohhh so windows bought qik and now they call it skype qik fantastic
  • Is this an 8.1 app?
  • Any one there already ?
  • How come a "skype" app cannot send videos to Skype users. Makes no sense at all. It should be alternative to Qik Phone numbers. Other than that it should be able to send videos in background. It is unable to do that.
  • sky kick!
  • Come on Microsoft this could of been a unique feature to windows they need to have reasons to attract people to windows phone other than Cortana
  • Don't worry, they'll make Cortana available to Android/iOS with some amazing new features that will come to Windows Phone...in the coming months. :/
  • I don't get it, what's the point of this app? Why on earth would I even want to send a video to someone instead of a quick text message? Also, why do they want me to login with my cellphone number instead of my Skype account? They already forced me to merge my Skype account with my Microsoft ID which I was very wary about and now this? Why Microsoft, why in earth would you do this?
  • This release, with its ad, that the app is inferior and all just made me go to the camp of "If W10 isn't serious and good, I'm leaving", and all the MSFT services I pay for today ill add to that. This app is to me, a symbol of why WP never succeed and, I hate to say, never will.
  • I remember Qik in Symbian OS back in 2010. Used the live stream to show my Nokia phone off to friends.
  • Excellent. I'm really glad this is not inside of Skype. Using phone numbers, like WhatsApp is much better. Nice!!!
  • Why exactly is it better? What's the point, I don't get it
  • I have way way more mobile phone numbers in my phone than I have Skype handles. Getting started with this app is very very simple. This is critical to any app getting accepted. Skype is used less and less across all devices. WhatsApp. Viber, et. al. Have seen to that. This is like a video SMS. Cool.
  • Maybe it's just me but I prefer to have my contacts seperated. Phonebook from Skype contacts from Facebook contacts from LinkedIn contacts, etc. Having them all mixed together would be a nightmare but I realize that I'm probably unique in this regard so as always, ymmv. If there at least was a way to choose between phone number and Skype account but it seems there isn't. It's either phone number or no way. I've told my wife about this app yesterday and she loved the idea, we installed it on her iPhone and played around with it a bit. I still am not impressed but I'm starting to get it, at least from her point of view. She actually used the same words you did: cool, it's like video SMS.
  • For some reason I can't connect. I select my country (Dominican Republic), put my phone number and it showing me error "try your phone number again"
  • I just watched the ad, now I'm even more confused. I don't get where, how and why this would ever be useful to anyone.
  • "This app is not available for your device." T-mobile Lumia 925. WP8 latest updates (not cyan/ 8.1).
  • So the Android version is the only complete version? Both iOS and WP are missing something that will be added "in the coming months..." WTF Microsoft? How abou completing the WP version and adding things to the competition later?!! *sigh*
  • SMH...good job though at least getting it to us in a timely fashion
  • A fancy useless app
  • Yes, indeed. I don't get it, really. Regular Skype can do this same video thingie, too. Not to mention WhatsApp and all other apps also.
  • Meh. What are your thoughts?
  • If you do exactly what the people in the video do while walking on a road, the next place you'll awake is
    "inside the hospital".
  • And I LOVE it... Isn't it amazing
  • If MS is making better apps for the competition... Whats the point of supporting WP?
  • For real.
MS making apps and they are all on the other platforms like Google, when Google doesn't even support Windows Phone,MS need to act like Apple and Google.
Example in order for people to use MS office, they'll need to buy a windows product, that's it.
  • I support it because I love the UI and design philosophy. But you are right... Users appear to support WP more than MS does.
  • This is a great app.  If folk would use it for a minute or three before ranting randomly about a feature they may rarely use (even though it sounds cool) they might be excited that they can use this great new service with the other two major platforms.  That is a very good thing.  When your friends use this and ask you to use it you don't have to break out your "The app isn't on Windows Phone yet" line and forlorn face.
  • Not working on Brazil yet
  • Awesome....
  • So I download the app. Try and send a vid. It's crashes and says camera isn't working restart the phone. I restart and it crashes again....... Wonderful Microsoft...... L925
  • I just tried the app out on my L1520 and the video gets really dark when it starts recording. Anyone else noticed this?
  • Microsoft is preparing to pull the plug on WP. It should not be a surprise that they are not prioritizing any apps for the platform.
  • Tell the little green men that told you that to check their facts.
  • I don't think you understand what is actually going on. Lol
  • As the ad started, I was wondering what the hell is MSFT thinking showcasing iPhone & Android phones. MSFT is F****ed up. Windows phones show up barely a  few seconds. Way to go MSFT. You can't show your products on your app...how sad is that.
  • Does anybody else get this message: "There was a problem with your camera. Restart your phone and try again." Unfortunatelly restarting does not work :( Lumia 1020 - Lumia Cyan - 8.10.14147.180
  • I thought I was the only one seeing that warning ⚠ when you launch the app.
  • Yuppp 920
  • Yeah, when resuming the app I get this message. L925 DP Cyan
  • Yep, I'm getting that. No feedback option, either.
  • Microsoft launches a new app with missing features on its own platform. Not just that, the app is buggy and crashes on my L920. When I re-open the app, it says, "Camera isn't recognized. Please re-start your phone." It works only for the first time. If you want to use it again, you have to re-start the phone. What nonsense!
  • I seriously love this app. Video's are long enough. Next to skype we guys at Xbox, this is very useful for us on the busy moments. And I have no problems so far.
  • Still not able to download. Lumia Icon with 8.0.
  • Good job Msf! Is eaven harder to stay with windows phone ...
  • The app is working on my 1020. Its missing a couple of features, even a simple one like changing from front camera to back! Its this and a series of other things that are making me lose faith in a operating system that I have backed since its launch!
  • The down side of this app is that you can only use the app via Wi-Fi.
Idk if everyone have the same problem as me or not.
  • Just tried to get this, but couldn't. Either it's not yet available or it's only for WP 8.1. Does anyone know which is the reason?
  • Let's start a WPCentral Skype Qyk group ! http://forums.wpcentral.com/windows-phone-8-1/317518-about-skype-qik-start-wpcentral-group.html
  • I am sure several of the comments before me have mentioned this, but on WP, no sound on vids, and I apparently can only add a contact to one group at a time, that sucks. Otherwise having lot of fun with this.
ETA: haha, figured both issues out but video sound default is comically low on my 925
  • ETA ETA:  I am realizing that having so many app versions released on Android/IOS with more features is making me kind of paranoid and quick to complain--I am coming to an app with assumptions about what it won't do, or assuming that it's not doing something when the issue is my own OE.  Doesn't matter, won't stop using windows phone,  I love it too much.  But I guess I should cultivate a bit more patience at this point.
  • Wow! This site is quickly becoming windows cry central.
  • This is more like IOS and android Glide than snapchat
  • Dunno how American Cortana pronounces Qik, but UK Cortana says "Chick".
  • if you like Skype Qik you should alos check out Vidback which is way cooler !!   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOeYXqa2MFE https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vidback/id789150905?mt=8 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vidback.app
  • Why are you SPAMMING about a product that isn't even available to Windows Phone users???
  • Rather than making this shitty redundant app how about using resources in improving Skype? Skype is owned by MS lol what a joke.
  • Downloaded it, but it's not taking my new number that I just changed too. Maybe it has something to do with the fact it's a new area code for our city.v Anyone have any info?
