Embark Studios, a Stockholm-based studio led by ex-Electronic Arts Worldwide Studios executive vice president Patrick Söderlund, teased its first game on Monday. The game, titled ARC Raiders, appears to revolve around combat with a mysterious alien foe. You can check out the first teaser for the game below, which uses a grainy, VCR-esque aesthetic.

The teaser for ARC Raiders also asks that players enlist and resist, with some distinctive synth music that wouldn't be out of place in a 1970s film. The full reveal for the game is coming on Dec. 9, 2021, during the Game Awards 2021, a show which is known for both awards and big gaming industry reveals. Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks lead the nominations this year, with multiple highly-rated titles such as Forza Horizon 5 and Deathloop.

ARC Raiders doesn't have a release date or known platforms right now, though given how long it's been in development, it's safe to at least expect that it'll be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and PS5.

Söderlund previously helmed DICE, a studio known for handling the Battlefield franchise, before being elevated to executive vice president of EA Worldwide Studios and then leaving the company. At EA, Söderlund worked to promote internal usage of the Frostbite engine across all of EA's franchises, including non-shooters like the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games.
