WPCentral extends its partnership with Nokia DVLUP to give away more free design consultations for your app!

Join Nokia DVLUP this Thursday, January 30th at 8 AM Pacific for a one-hour online design seminar and learn how to win a free design consultation for your Windows Phone app.

Last year WPCentral and the Nokia DVLUP team gave away several free design consultations for developers who wanted to enhance the visual design quality of their app.

This giveaway was such a success that hundreds of developers applied to get one of the awarded design sessions hosted by Arturo Toledo.  As a result, Nokia extended the program from 10 consultations to 50 and for 2014 we are giving away 30 more coupons!

Would you like to get one of these free consultations? Register now to the ´Lessons Learned´ online seminar on January 30th (8:00 PST | 10:00 CST) where Arturo will share the most common design challenges after reviewing dozens and dozens of apps. You will learn best UX practices and tons of tips and tricks to design better Windows Phone apps. In addition, during this event, Arturo will share how you can win a free design consultation so make sure to be there!

They say 'proof is in the pudding'. Here are some before-and-after samples for your enjoyment:

Developers who received a free design consultation last year were mind blown with the results triggering discussions on Twitter:

“Totally blown away by my design review session with @arturot for rGov Congress. can't wait to implement the design changes #wpdev @dvlup”

“Just finished my @dvlup design consultation with @arturot . It was very helpful and looking to incorporate in my app! Thanks guys!”

“@arturot is an awesome designer. Will be releasing an updated and better looking app soon. Thanks @dvlup and @wpcentral for this :-)”

“Just wow! Wait until you see the changes in Password Padlock! @arturot made some great suggestions in my @dvlup Design Review today. #wpdev”

Developers, take the time and learn to make your app even better looking! The Windows Phone Central audience has spoken over and over again when it comes to their favorite apps: design, design, design. Here's your chance to really make your creation shine, so please take advantage of it!  -the WPCentral team

  • That's awesome. I might have to give it a shot.
  • That Before and After design ! :D
  • Little things like this is what makes Nokia so valuable to the Windows Phone platform, I'm wondering what will happen when the sellout of the Smart devices and services division is completed.
  • As of now, nothing. DVLUP will live on as will the team behind it.
  • Somebody drag WhatsApp team to this session and show them how to DESIGN, please
  • Whatsapp should join this.. their WP8 app UI design just... really bad
  • +1
  • My session with Mr. Toledo was an excellent experience. Please, somebody tell MS that they need to implement the same thing for Windows 8 apps.
  • Actually I prefer some of the initial design. Metro is sometimes too simplistic and waste of space.
  • Maybe I should do it. Evidently WPCentral hate my app.
  • Thanks for sharing this! :)
  • ... and Spotify, they too need help!
  • Arturo is a real design Guru, awesome experience, I really recommend to every serious developer.
  • I do not want advice from them, I want to give THEM some advice, because there is a lot to improve on the standard apps.
