4Chan Reader for Windows Phone free until the end of February

We previously took a look at 4Chan Reader when it entered into the Marketplace, which was surprising with the previous submission review trouble other apps of that nature encountered. The app, which would normally set you back just $0.99 (£0.79), has been made available for free until the end of February.

The reasoning behind the temporary change in price? The developer of 4Chan Reader has recently pushed out an update that contained not only bug fixes and improvements, but a massive UI overhaul. Please remember that this app is not safe for work, home, or anywhere in public. You can download 4Chan Reader from the Marketplace.

Thanks Axel for the tip!

  • Is it worth it now?
  • The animated gifs still don't work, and it tends to crash on my HTC Trophy.
  • Crashy on my HTC Arrive too. Deleting...
  • Why unsafe for work? Not big on the 4chan.
  • Even in the 'safe' channels you will inevitably see porn or disturbing images.
  • the lack of a "chan" reader was one of the reasons I still used my iphone. Now there are a couple of them and they are improving with each release. This one included. Gif's dont work, but opening link in IE fixes that. I would like to see the option to add different sites and a watchlist for certain threads.
  • ImageBoard Browser is really good but they broke the ability to look full screen at the images.  As soon as they fix that, I don't really see what it's missing.
  • The update of the paid version has been approved, so it should be available very soon (probably tomorrow).
The update of the free version has been rejected by Microsoft for some random reason, so it will take a few more days. Therefore I suggest switching to the trial of the paid version (it's fully featured without any limitation, basically the same as the free version).
  • I don't understand why would someone want to read 4Chan.
  • crashy on a Samsung Focus
  • The reviews are all I need to see. I'll pass on this one. Thanks family.
  • Yeah this app is buggy as hell, ugly, and nowhere near as good as ImageBoard Browser
  • Works fine on my Omnia.
  • Works fine on My HTC Surround. As my first foray into the world of 4chan, some stuff is quite hilarious. Do not know what the tags are, but some of them are incredibly in depth in terms of technical knowledge. Way over my head but fun to watch.
