Updated May 29, 2019: British retailer Game said that a reveal event is scheduled for May 30. Activision latter confirmed this on Twitter.

It seems like the Call of Duty 2019 reveal is right around the corner. According to numerous reports, the game will be unveiled on May 30. However, it's the name that's drawing everyone's attention. According to Kotaku, instead of being called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, it's going to be called "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare." It's supposed to be a "soft reboot" of the franchise, but at this point, it's unclear what that means.

Kotaku said the following in a report about the upcoming game.

News of this year's strangely named Call of Duty leaked out via YouTuber LongSensation this morning. Activision has been showing the game... for a week or two now, so a leak like this was inevitable. Kotaku has not seen the game or agreed to any embargo, but we've heard from many sources connected to the Call of Duty world that it is indeed called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare... developed by Infinity Ward for release this fall. It'll be heavy on troubling, realistic emotional moments.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 lacked a single-player campaign. Since both Call of Duty: WWII and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare featured stellar stories, the game felt incomplete in many ways. Hopefully, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's plot will be engaging.

As with any such leak, take it with a grain of salt until Activision officially confirms the game. What do you think about the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare name? Are you excited for a "realistic" and "emotional" experience? Let us know.
