Destiny: Rise of Iron leaks out on the Xbox Store ahead of official reveal

The next DLC for Destiny, titled Rise of Iron, has leaked ahead of the official reveal on the Xbox Store. The fine folk over on Reddit managed to capture a screenshot, as well as a full description for the listing. Players will have access to new quests, armor, weapons, factions, bosses, and more.

Thanks to the Xbox Store listing, we have the full description of the title's DLC available:

"Destiny: Rise of Iron is the next highly anticipated expansion to the Destiny universe. The wall which stood for centuries along the southern border of Old Russia has collapsed. Fallen mutants now scavenge the tombs of the Golden Age, and the plague they have unearthed in the wastes is more dangerous than even they understand. Join Lord Saladin. Journey into the Plaguelands. Learn the fate of the Iron Lords and stop the growing threat before it is too late."

Here are some of what's included in Rise of Iron:

  • New Story Campaign & Quests
  • New Armor and Gear
  • New Weapons
  • New Raid
  • Maximum Light Increase
  • New Strike
  • New Plaguelands Zone & Social Space
  • New Crucible Mode & Maps
  • New Enemy Faction and Bosses

And here's the Rise of Iron Snapchat advertisement. Note that Gjallarhorn is featured in the video.

Excited for the next slice of DLC?

  • People are still playing Destiny? Amazing!

  • I play when new DLC comes out. So I'll grab this, play hard for a couple months, then move on to other games and wait for new DLC, or Destiny 2.....whichever comes first.
  • Yup, we are!
  • I traded in my copy of Destiny long ago. Couldn't justify spending (at that point) roughly $140 for a middling "complete" game. And then you can add to that whatever they charge for this piece.
  • I play almost every night. It's a good game for someone like me who has limited time. I can't keep up with DM, and Destiny has good coop modes for me. I get that not everyone likes it, but I do. They also did us a favor when they took away some of the grinding needed to level up, and micro transactions are for fluff only.
  • i love this game still playing since day one. i like that they've made it more accessable to casual solo players like myself. when the game first came out it was really hard to enjoy the game without a fireteam but they've changed that!
  • How have they changed that? I am also a casual player that have played since Vanilla Destiny but have NEVER played a strike because I don't know/haven't been able to join a fireteam, including the King's Fall raid. How do you still enjoy it?
  • They really need to add matchmaking with the big raids.  I haven't done any of them because of this.
  • Can't wait for September!!! Looking forward to doing my Friday night raids again.
  • Can't wait, pvp in Destiny is fantastic.
  • I'll probably grab it again, I sold my original destiny, but one day I'll pick it up again.
  • I'm sure I'll play through the new DLC and promptly out it down until Destiny 2 comes out. I like the content and ui; just not enough meat on the bone to hold my interest.
  • I may preorder to avoid waiting for RNG to drop a Gjallahorn for me which took months (one week before Xur sold it again. Warframe occupies most of my time but I can give Destiny another whirl for a month or two when DLC drops.
