What you need to know

  • Far Cry 6 continues the long-running open-world, action-packed franchise from Ubisoft with an all-new world, villains, and ways to cause chaos.
  • The game will take full advantage of PC hardware, and give PC gamers a ton of flexibility with multiple settings.
  • Today, the full PC requirements for Far Cry 6 have been revealed, as well as some PC-specific features.
  • Far Cry 6 can target all the way up to a 4K resolution at 30 FPS with DirectX ray tracing turned on.

Far Cry 6 is releasing on Oct. 7, 2021 for most modern gaming platforms, including PC, and that means PC players excited for the game need to ensure their rig is prepared to handle whatever Far Cry 6 and its chaos-filled world throws at it. Today, Ubisoft has unveiled the full suite of Far Cry 6 PC requirements across a range of settings, and has shared some of the PC-specific enhancements that players will be able to enjoy.

Far Cry 6 is an all-new adventure that very much follows the established Far Cry formula, in that it follows a protagonist in a fictional environment plagued by an oppressive villain, and has them wreak general havoc in their efforts to defeat them. Our Far Cry 6 gameplay preview showed that Far Cry 6 possesses a serious story underlined by ridiculously silly (and insane) gameplay and side missions. If Far Cry 6 can walk the line and deliver a fun adventure, it could be one of the best PC games when it releases.

Once you've checked all the requirements below, be sure you're prepared with one of the best gaming GPUs, which will unlock greater power in your gaming PC.

Some of the PC-specific features of Far Cry 6 include:

  • Uncapped framerate, which lets you unlock greater levels of performance with the right hardware
  • DirectX raytracing (DXR) support, which grants upgraded lighting, shadows, reflections, and overall realism with supported hardware
  • AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution support, which allows Far Cry 6 to achieve greater resolutions without sacrificing performance
  • In-depth customization options for every setup and desire
  • Hybrid input between multiple sources, like a controller paired with a mouse and keyboard
  • Extended control customization to cater to your specific needs
  • Multi-monitor and widescreen support for an upgraded visual experience
  • In-game benchmark that allows you to monitor performance without leaving the game

Here are the Far Cry 6 PC requirements you need to be aware of.
