The first 1705 build is rolling out for Xbox Insiders on the Alpha Ring

This new build is laying the ground work for new features we detailed earlier today, including Arena tournaments for Killer Instinct and World of Tanks, a new party chat overlay and more.

OS version released: rs2_release_xbox_1705.170411-1700

Available: 6:00PM PDT 4/17 (1:00AM GMT 18/4)

Welcome to 1705 on Xbox One! This month we're rolling out a new party overlay, more fan-requested improvements, and later this month…Killer Instinct and World of Tanks tournaments powered by Arena on Xbox Live!

You can read more about the features coming in this update on the Xbox News Wire.

NOTE: Not all planned features for this update are available at this time.

While we don't know specifically what's available in this current build until its full roll out later this evening, here are the main features planned for this wave of updates.

  • Share your Looking for Group post on the Activity Feed or through a message.
  • Unfollow a Club or Game Hub directly from your Activity Feed.
  • Your profile will display your Arena tournament history and upcoming tournaments.
  • For Beam and Twitch broadcasts, you will now have an option in the Guide for your Kinect to locate you automatically.
  • Captive Portal support for wireless internet is coming to Xbox One, which allows for Wi-Fi authentication through a browser. Great for colleges, hotels, or public Wi-Fi locations.
  • Filter posts on your Activity Feed on the Xbox app for iOS and Android.
  • On the Xbox app for Windows 10, we're adding the option to select the audio input and output sources for Party chat.

Microsoft is showing no sign of slowing down on new features for Xbox Live, which only just recently received the Creators Update bringing in Beam broadcasting, a new Guide, and much more.
