Yesterday was quite an eventful day for Playground Games. Not only did Phil Spencer announce that the team was joining Microsoft Studios, but the reveal of the new Forza Horizon 4 blew gamers away with its seasons and shared open-world vision.
Forza Horizon 3 is the highest-rated Microsoft game of the current generation and has garnered numerous accolades since launch. However, how many gamers have had the chance to try it out? An interview between IGN and Ralph Fulton, Creative Director of Playground Games, revealed just that.
When asked about the success the studio has had with Forza Horizon 3, Fulton replied with the following statement.
Nine million players is truly an astonishing figure and hopefully the team will experience even more success in the future. Keep in mind that this is a player count and shouldn't be equated to sales figures.
If you're looking for a thrilling open-world racing game, be sure to give Forza Horizon 3 a go. In our review we said that "this is the biggest Forza Horizon to date and it's not just the best Forza game, it's one of the best games you can buy on the Xbox One. Playground Games outdid itself...and Microsoft has something truly spectacular here. The appeal of Horizon is wider than a circuit based racer, and this massive, glorious representation of Australia is something to behold. It is truly a work of art."

I wish we had some indication of sales. At 9 million players the sales can't be too shabby.
i think with Game Pass, sales figures won't mean much for MS and we will likely never get them from Xbox division again. It will be about how many gamers are engaged in their games and platforms going forward, and that's probably the figure MS is most concerned about now anyways.
Sales numbers would be cool, but with pre owned games being a thing, user engagement is a more accurate method of measure.
This game rocks. ANd I am happy I have the game though I haven't played it lately but do need to get back into it to do the expanions :). As for Forza Horizon 4 goes. I don't plan to buy it as im sure my computer will not be able to handle it. Even if it could handle it. Im perfectly fine just having Forza Horizon 3. I really don't want to start over on cars an such. But hopefully they get that game in good shape too. :)
Last year with the release of Forza Motorsports 7, they gave away as GwG Forza Motorports 5, right before it was delisted. My hopes is that with the release of Forza Horizon 4, they'll give away Forza Horizon 2
FH3 is the only racer I play these days. Fire it up, spend a lilo to race a few round, no hassle. And I prefer this kinda open world racer than track based ones. More programming challenges. FH3 - Hot Wheels expansion was fun.
Will def get FH4.
