007: First Light, the first James Bond videogame in over a decade since 2012's 007 Legends, will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Windows and Steam on May 27, 2026.

To soothe Xbox fans' wounds after receiving news that the game would be delayed three months from its original March release window, 007: Fight Light's developer/publisher, IO Interactive, has announced on their X account that the game will receive Xbox Play Anywhere when the game launches in May.

Xbox Play Anywhere is a lauded feature of the Xbox ecosystem that allows Xbox users to purchase a license for a digital copy of a game once without having to buy it again on another system.

For example, if you bought a digital copy of a game on Xbox Series X|S, you can play it on Windows PC via the Microsoft Store without having to buy it again on PC.

Another cool feature of Xbox Play Anywhere is cross-saves, which allows a player to port and continue progress on their game's save data to other Xbox platforms or other supported gaming devices like the Xbox Ally X via the cloud.

I have no doubt Xbox fans will be glad 007: First Light will have Xbox Play Anywhere support, as this game is looking to be one of 2026's hottest titles that they'll want to play anywhere.

For those unaware, 007: First Light is an action-adventure game based on the legendary James Bond franchise. The game will follow James Bond's rookie years before becoming the iconic MI6 agent he is today.

Players will chase after an evil rogue agent in an action-packed adventure filled with thrills, twists, and nail-biting espionage gameplay built on the back of IO Interactive's critically-acclaimed Hitman series.

If you're a fan of the James Bond movies, grew up playing the classic GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64 in the 1990s, just cinematic action-adventure games in general, you may want to keep 007: First Light on your radar when it releases on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Windows and Steam on May 27, 2026.
