Garmin Connect Mobile for Windows 10 adds support for more devices

The Garmin Connect Mobile app for Windows 10 on both PC and Mobile launched a few months ago and this week the app was updated to version 1.4. In addtion to adding a bunch of features, the app adds support for Garmin's latest fitness wearables, the Vivoactive HR and Vivofit 3.

Here's a look at what's new with version 1.4:

  • My Community Snapshot uses the Snapshot feature to show you what your friends are doing on leaderboards.
  • Paddle boarding and rowing sports have been added as activity types.
  • Your fenix 3 now has heart rate support!
  • Audio prompts for supported devices give you in-ear notifications of your performance.
  • Move IQ auto detects your activities such as running, walking, driving, etc. when you forget to manually log your activity.
  • If you are a group admin, you can now manage your groups from Garmin Connect Mobile!
  • We have added V02, FTP and Lactate Threshold Stats in the Performance Stats menu.
  • Windows now supports vivofit 3 and vivoactive HR.
  • View your group challenges and leaderboards by going to your group's detail view.
  • Every Garmin update includes various bug fixes, performance and pairing improvements.

  • This is good. Now we just need more tech companies to add support so W10 users can stop living in the last decade with in home tech and wearables.
  • I found a great smart home setup on gethub for windows 10 IOT that runs on raspberry pi. It even has a cat litter box fan. The only change I will be making to it is have Cortana open my gate so I don't have to get out of the car.
  • Why no link to the store? QR code only?
  • yeah the link to the store doesn't work! Posted via Universal Windows App on W10
  • Works fine here from the app :D Posted with the Windows Central app for Windows 10 on HP 250 G1 notebook. It is a scary old monster, I think :D
  • Either (1) turn your ad blocker off or (2) whitelist our Store links/referral or (3) Use our free Windows 10 app. Either way, the answer is your ad blocker is stripping our links as we 100% have the link in our article and it 100% works.
  • Can I finally connect my L930 with Forerunner 220???
  • Now working with Edge510 :)
  • I've been using my Edge 810 on my 930 for the past month, apart from the Garmin server being down last sunday I've been pretty impressed with the LiveTrack feature, just waiting for live track facebook intergration.
  • When will they give us the Smartphone Link app???
  • Yes please! The hd radio traffic data doesn't quite get all the way out where I need it! And since we'll never get Waze updated...
  • Some apps do now get a data link through the Windows device. I suspect Garmin class this as a bug, hence not being specifically listed on the change log as a feature.

  • Is it to much to ask to give a brief explanation on what this app is? Maybe some of us have never heard of it.
  • This app allows you to connect a Garmin fitness device to your mobile.
  • I love this app for my vivofit, glad they have it and have been updating it. But I've had a lot of syncing issues where when I pair it, it will sync that first time but it won't sync properly again after that unless I delete then re-add it. Anyone else have these issues? I've got a L950 on current Redstone build, so that might be it.
  • I have the same issue with my Forerunner 225. And the other issue with the calendar which shows me 2018 February when I open it.
  • Come on Suunto, follow this example!
