Back in October, The Coalition revealed that a story DLC pack was coming to Gears 5 sometime in December. Now, we've got a new trailer and release date for Gears 5: Hivebusters. Scorpio Squad — Mac, Keegan and Lahni — have unique abilities that can be used in the story missions. This trio first debuted in the Escape mode that shipped with Gears 5, so it'll be interesting to see where their story goes, especially with mysterious new Swarm creatures shown in the trailer.

Much like the main campaign, Gears 5: Hivebusters is enhanced for Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, as well as supporting three-player co-op. There's also 210 Gamerscore worth of new achievements that are being added. This expansion is available for $20 but if you're subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, it's included at no additional cost.
