What you need to know

  • Battlefield 2042 releases in October.
  • If you want to get early access to its open betas as well as a free copy of the game, NVIDIA has a promotion for you.
  • All you need to do is buy a qualifying RTX 30-series powered desktop or laptop.

Want to save $60-something on an eventual purchase of Battlefield 2042? If yes, then here's the follow-up question: Do you plan on buying a new NVIDIA-powered gaming laptop or desktop in the near future? Should you be shopping for new hardware, you could very well score a free copy of the latest Battlefield.

NVIDIA usually does these promotions for major AAA games, wherein if you buy a laptop or desktop equipped with one of its best graphics cards, you'll get a big new release for free. These promotions are the exact reason you see so many brand new games often going for pennies on sites such as Reddit.

However, if you happen to be in the market for one of the best gaming laptops or best gaming desktop PCs anyway, why not time it so that you get Battlefield 2042 for free? Sixty bucks is sixty bucks, after all.

There are conditions to NVIDIA's promotion. One is that only machines with RTX 30-series (3070 or higher) cards are eligible, and even then, only certain models from specific retailers. But once you get past those qualifiers, it should be smooth sailing.

As a result of getting the game bundled alongside NVIDIA-powered hardware, you'll get:

  • Battlefield 2042 (standard edition)
  • Open beta early access
  • "Mr. Chompy" epic weapon charm
  • Baku ACB-90 melee takedown knife
  • Player card background and tag

If this all sounds like a swell deal to you, you can hop over to NVIDIA's site to check out participating retailers.
