Xbox Game Pass Ultimate isn't yet available to everyone, but it will be at some point later in 2019. Right now, select Xbox Insiders, those in the Alpha and Skip Ahead rings specifically, are able to try it out at a reduced rate and provide Microsoft with valuable feedback. However, you can cancel it at any time and the method for doing so will be the same when it rolls out to the public.

How to cancel Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Since Xbox Game Pass Ultimate combines both Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold, it's important to remember that once you cancel you'll lose both. Any games you've installed as part of Game Pass will no longer work, and any of the benefits of Gold, such as online multiplayer, will no longer apply until you have an active subscription again to either service or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

  1. Navigate to (opens in new tab) in your browser.
  2. Sign into your Microsoft account.
  3. Navigate to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate section of the page.
  4. Click Manage.

  1. Choose Cancel.
  2. Select Confirm cancellation.

Upon cancelation, your subscription will run until the current paid period concludes. If you want to go back into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at any time during the preview phase, you will need to go through the Xbox Insider Hub app on your console to re-enroll.

In the meantime, those not enrolled in the Xbox Insider Program can purchase standard Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold today. If you have prepaid time on your account, Microsoft is currently honoring this in the Game Pass Ultimate preview when you enroll.
