Instagram will soon let you add up to 10 photos or videos to 1 post

Instagram aficionados, brace yourselves for impact; the photo-sharing service is adding support for one of its most requested features. Hitting iOS and Android first, but certain to make its way to Windows 10 PC and Mobile, Instagram is now rolling out the ability to share multiple photos and videos in on post.

Now, when uploading new stuff to your feed, you'll see an icon for selecting multiple photos or videos. You can easily select which snaps you want to add to the post and change the order with a tap and hold. You'll be able to add a total of 10 photos or videos to each post, and filters can also be applied en masse or to a select few.

Once uploaded, your post will appear as a sort of gallery in your friends' feeds. The first photo will show just like a normal post, but there will be blue dots underneath to indicate there are more photos or videos to see in the post. Just swipe left or right to move through them.

As mentioned, this feature is rolling out now on Android and iOS. Instagram has been really good about bringing new features to its Windows 10 app, however, so we should see support for multi-photo uploads come to it in short order. We will, of course, let you know when that happens.

Download Instagram from the Windows Store (opens in new tab)

  • Facebook has been doing an amazing job with Instagram and WhatsApp recently on Windows 10, only Messenger and the main Facebook app needs a mayor workout on Mobile.
  • WhatsApp already had a great support on Windows Phone before Mark took over. All of their apps still need huge improvements, but Instagram is a good example that they're in the right way.
  • Mostly Facebook. Messenger is getting better and better :D
  • They just need to bring back actionable notifications. It seriously takes about 10-15 seconds for the messenger app to launch after selecting a notification. Fix that and the stupid "Facebook for windows" tag . We already know what OS it is lol
  • +1 for this :D
  • Yah it's getting better but the Messenger camera still does an annoying flicker for the past couple months and reinstalling doesn't work, so hopefully they fix those issues
  • Looking good. I still wish for scheduled posts
  • Would be great for businesses especially. Upload a bunch of promo stuff and tell it what days and times you want it posted. Or set up reoccurring posts as well.
  • Yes, it is very useful for my 2nd account where i like to schedule 2 posts a day
  • If it's rolling out for iOS and Android now then we'll see it on Windows 10 PC/Mobile in about 3 weeks.
  • Thank you for supporting your apps regardless of market share. Respect.
  • 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  • Thank you for remember us!!!! AWESOME!!!!
  • 🤗
  • No wonder is doing so well...
Snapchat ignored us and now they are going down by numbers.
  • Good, never liked Snapchat.
  • And also Facebook took all of their features
  • Instagram is going big... I hope they make a native app and be creative with windows
  • Turns out Instagram on Windows 10 can view carousel posts but cannot (yet) post them.
