Microsoft looking into issue with Windows Insiders being dropped from Skip Ahead ring
If you've recently been dropped from the Windows Insider Skip Ahead ring, you're not alone.

Some Windows 10 Insiders are reporting that their Insider settings have been reverted, apparently kicking them out of the Skip Ahead ring in the process. According to the alert provided, the reverted settings are occurring because the Skip Ahead ring has been closed. The message reads:
Your Windows Insider Program content settings have been reverted. We did this because you selected Skip Ahead, but Skip Ahead is now closed. You'll continue to receive updates as usual.
However, it appears the alert has gone out by mistake. Windows Insider chief Dona Sarkar took to Twitter, stating that she is aware of the issue and looking into it.
#WindowsInsiders who are getting a strange "reverted Insiders settings" notification: I'm looking into it. Back with news soon. ❤️#WindowsInsiders who are getting a strange "reverted Insiders settings" notification: I'm looking into it. Despite the notification, it's unclear if Insiders have actually been removed from Skip Ahead, but we should learn much more soon. In the meantime, if you're seeing this alert, sit tight.
Thanks to Hans for the tip!

I wasn't really alarmed by this initially since they had already stated that Skip Ahead was simply being rolled into the Fast ring anyway and would be the same thing. I thoroughly expected to see my device flipped to Fast automatically. What HAS bothered me is that the message keeps coming up over and over. It's an annoyance, to be sure.
-
All my machines got kicked and I was wondering what happened.
-
I'm getting the error even though I long ago moved back to the fast ring. It kept repeating the alert, so I ended up disabling alerts from Settings.
-
I'm on the fast ring but it's kicked me out and always defaults to the slow ring. Now, that really wouldn't bother me, but the notification keeps popping up even though it's not on skip ahead or fast ring anymore.

In the meantime the Insider program for W10 Mobile has ended: https://twitter.com/Heathcliff74XDA/status/938528009719615489

It didn't?
-
How do you know? I trust in Heathcliffs insider knowledge
-
Getting the notification every 2 minutes isn't helping anything, either!
-
Go in the Action Center and right click to disable notifications. I think that actually disables all notifications from Settings, so you may want to turn them back on when it's fixed.
-
I Sense a new build coming may have made it glitch while getting a new build ready to go out
-
and if you are in the skip ahead and then have to format for some reason you cant get back into skip ahead.
-
That happened to me, but I'm still getting the alert that my settings have been reverted.
-
THAT'S whats going on...................
I was WONDERING WHY the message kept popping up over and over -
Dropped for a reason or not, Microsoft needs to work on their error messages. Ooh, I should submit that via the Feedback hub! ^_^
-
I am having the issue
-
I am in the Fast Ring, never was in the Skip Ahead Ring, and I am getting the message, many times. Pretty sloppy if you ask me.
-
I received this message, but i never was in Skip ahead! I tried a few months ago but the enrollment already had ended.
-
Hmm...
-
This issue also seems to be blocking ring changes as I tried to move to Slow ring but always got reverted back to Fast ring.
