What you need to know

  • Silent Hill is a popular horror franchise from Konami.
  • Many thought that the series was dead after Hideo Kojima and Konami parted.
  • Konami is still "considering ways" to bring the series back for a modern audience.

Silent Hill is an incredibly popular horror franchise that has been dormant for years. We didn't see a single new Silent Hill game for this generation of consoles other than the P.T. demo PlayStation 4 got. However, Konami is thinking about a new game. And when I say thinking, we're really talking about thinking.

PCGamesN recently managed to get ahold of Konami and a representative n said that the game maker was "considering ways" of providing the next title. You can read an excerpt from the article below.

'We cannot share anything at this point, but we are listening to customer feedback and considering ways to provide the next title,' a Konami representative tells PCGamesN. The statement doesn't give too much away, but it's promising to hear the company is mulling over a new entry. Silent Hill has been, well, silent since 2012, when both Downpour and the dungeon-crawler spin-off Book of Memories launched.

Hopefully, whenever the next Silent Hill game releases, it'll be a critically-acclaimed experience. The past few games have been quite terribly, frankly speaking, Let's hope that Konami manages to revive the franchise.

What do you think Konami will do? Do you think it still has a team to make a great Silent Hill game? Let us know.
