Update: We've been seeing flickering stock for both Xbox Series S, while the Xbox Series X and PS5 appear to be sold out.
Walmart is getting next-gen consoles back in stock at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, giving gaming fans yet another chance to maybe snag a console ahead of the holidays.
The U.S. retailer says that stock for both PS5s, the Xbox Series X, and the Xbox Series S will be available online only. The Xbox Series S (opens in new tab) is available for $299 and the Series X (opens in new tab) is available for $499. The regular PS5 (opens in new tab) is available for $499 while the PS5 Digital Edition (opens in new tab) will be up for $399. Walmart also notes if you're able to grab one, it'll arrive after Christmas Day. Better later than never, we suppose?
A lot of the stock we've seen lately have been in the form of expensive bundles, so if you just want the base console with a controller, now is your chance. Get in before they sell out again! More stock of both next-gen consoles has hit the market in recent weeks, both from Sony and Microsoft and third-party retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, and Gamestop. Unfortunately, thanks to scalpers and the pandemic limiting in-person stock, all four consoles have been tough to find. Xbox CFO Tim Stuart even stated that users can expect shortages deep into 2021.
Sony has debuted its next-generation PlayStation 5, with unprecedented demand across the globe. The new gaming console pushes 4K resolution gaming up to 120 frames-per-second (FPS) delivering the best experiences across a blockbuster exclusive lineup.
Xbox Series X
Xbox Series X is Microsoft's new flagship, as its most powerful console with over 12TF GPU performance and a custom SSD. It boasts up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS, full backward compatibility across four generations, and ray-tracing support.

Experience next-gen gaming for less.
Microsoft serves the next-generation for less with its budget-friendly Xbox Series S. The console packs the same high-performance CPU and SSD technology as Xbox Series X, while scaling back the GPU and removing the disc drive.
Series X out of stock practically instantaneously. :-/
Refresh is my friend and was able to snag one shipping 13th of January, good luck ya'll.
Congrats, same here, nothing available at 3 PM but refreshed a few times and the message changed to "in stock again at 3:10 PM" and I got one right away at that time.
Good job guys. I keep missing them. I even have a site monitoring with an alarm when it's detected as in stock, but they're always gone as soon as I get there. Oh well, I'll get one someday. :-)
I still say Microsoft should just let people backorder them with an unknown or very far in the future date. There is no reason for the manufacturer of the product to be out of stock and not allowing orders in this situation.
Any chance WC can also cover availability for all the other major launch countries.
Painful for it always be only about the US & 'sometimes' Canada/UK...
You do have a lot of non-US readers, and you have for a very long time now.
The major/main launch countries aren't a huge number, certainly not every country in the world
Series S was still showing in stock as of 20 minutes ago.
We still love our Kinect. No reason to change at the moment. Especially since we don't actually game on our console.
Gotta give Walmart credit, despite estimating delivery for 1/13, it shipped yesterday and I received it today.
