Red Dead Redemption 2 gets exhilarating story trailer

After months of waiting, Rockstar Games finally unveiled a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. The game takes place around the turn of the century in 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who do not surrender are killed.

After a robbery goes wrong in the town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.

We get a better look at a number of new characters as well as a young John Marston, the protagonist from the first game. Red Dead Redemption 2 seems like it's going to be quite an emotional and thrilling journey filled with difficult decisions.

Red Dead Redemption 2 should launch on October 26, 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 systems. We'll keep you posted as soon as the developer shares actual gameplay. It's unclear what the resolution or frame rate will be on Xbox One X, but we do know that the game is getting enhanced for the console.
