Return to Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty with 'Alf's Escape' for Xbox One
Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is the full re-mastering of the critically acclaimed puzzle-platformer, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, originally released on the PS1.
Abe's Oddysee was fairly notorious for its difficulty, and while New 'n' Tasty offered new settings to ease the challenge, it was still quite a hard slog.
The meatiest puzzles in New 'n' Tasty were found in its hidden areas, as they combined the game's mechanics in extreme and diabolical ways. If you imagine an entirely new level comprised of those more complex challenges, you'll have a good idea about what the Alf's Escape DLC represents.
Alf's Escape is an all new level for New 'n' Tasty, available today on Xbox One. In the DLC, your mission is to locate and extract Alf, a fez-wearing Mudokon, who originally appeared in Abe's Exoddus back on the PS1.
Alf's Escape takes place in as-of-yet unseen areas of Rupture Farms, accessible only after you unlock the chapter select menu. It's bound to the chapter select menu due to its difficulty. Oddworld Inc. want you to have a decent grasp of the game's mechanics before trying to guide Alf through the DLC's mind-bending puzzles.
Game designer Matt Glanville described the DLC and its 'gruelling death traps' earlier in the year:
Alf's Escape is available now on Xbox One, PS4 and Windows. Xbox Live Gold subscribers can take advantage of a 50% discount from now until October 19th, making Alf's Escape one of the meatiest $1.75 you can spend on Xbox One today.

Oddworld Inc. and Just Add Water are hard at work building a re-master of 1998's Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. If we get original Xbox backwards compatibility, maybe we could eventually see Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee on Xbox One as well, here's hoping!
