The best new PowerToys feature just got even better — now I can’t live without it
A quick update adds the one feature I was dying for when CursorWrap first launched last week.
I love apps. I especially love Windows apps that are clearly developed with care. PowerToys is one of the best apps on Windows, and it just received a small but notable update.
The latest update brings PowerToys to version 0.97.1. The update focuses largely on fixes, but it does include a couple of additions to CursorWrap.
That feature is the most recent addition to PowerToys. It effectively connects the edges of your screen, allowing you to drag your cursor to the left or right and then have it "wrap" around to the other side. The same functionality works vertically as well.
The latest update to PowerToys improves CursorWrap and fixes a few bugs in other utilities. The change log is detailed on the app's GitHub page and below.

Why is PowerToys one of the best Windows apps?
The CursorWrap feature was only added to PowerToys around a week ago. When I covered its launch, which came with PowerToys v0.97.0, I said I raced my PC to try the feature.
Even in its first iteration, CursorWrap was a cool and useful feature, but I had a few minor complaints. Initially, the feature was either on or off and lacked more granular controls. I prefer to use CursorWrap horizontally but not vertically, since I often flick my wrist to get my cursor to the top or bottom of my screen.
PowerToys v0.97.1 adds the option to lock CursorWrap to horizontal-only or vertical-only mode.

The PowerToys update also addressed a bug that occurred after enabling CursorWrap with a laptop attached to a monitor and then closing the lid of the laptop.
The turnaround is impressive and I love when developers listen to feedback and take action immediately. That ethos is one of the key things that makes PowerToys great.
