If you're looking for a good reason to snap up on of Microsoft's special edition NFL Surface Type Covers, they're on sale now for a pretty steep discount at the Microsoft Store. (opens in new tab) Currently, you can pick up your choice of cover for $95, which is just under $65 off of the usual $159.99 price tag.

The covers come sporting the logo from your choice of any one of the 32 NFL teams against gray fabric. Other than that, the covers feature the same magnetic mechanism and keys you'd find on a standard type cover for the Surface Pro, Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4.

Given that the NFL season just started, now might be a good time to sport your favorite team's colors. You can find the deal at the Microsoft Store now.

  • Even at $95 that is still too much money for what it is. Microsoft is really shooting themselves in the foot making these things so expensive.   They are the reason I have not bought a new Surface.
  • I agree. I have a Surface Pro 4 and love the device, however, the line of products is priced very high.  MS would do much better if they sell them at a lower price point.  I'm not saying go cheap, but get more aggressive with their pricing.  They can still be premium products without having the "Apple" price.
  • It is not selling at "Apple" price, this is $65 cheaper. Usually there are licensing fees on the NFL keyboard, which will up the price.
  • Completely agree; the overly expensive covers, plus now they don't even include the pen with a new Surface Pro, so another what $100 for that...and the new surface is nearly twice as expensive as my original Surface Pro was, at which point the other much cheaper better speced OEM competitors start to look increasing better. Plus the NFL covers should be half price of the normal ones considering they serve as promotional material for the NFL.
  • I don't have data for the surface keyboard sles but they seem to be doing pretty well with the surface line, so I don't know if they are shooting themselves in the foot. I'm not disagreeing with you, I'd love these to be cheaper too.
  • Wow, at those prices I've gotta pimp out my favorite sportsball team. Make all the hoops! Hit all the baskets!
  • Wait, so they're cheaper than regular ones? I don't care at all about NFL but there's a deal there.
  • If you like your device to look like a bilboard advert for the NFL then sure... but if you use your Surface Pro in a professional setting you don't want to look like a clown in meetings.
  • Well, with IT doing well at the box office perhaps being a clown is now a cool thing.
  • I too think they're ugly, my point is that for those who don't care about looks, having a chance of getting a surface keyboard cheaper is a interesting proposition. That leaving aside the fact that not everybody has high profile meetings where they have a respected image to protect.    So yeah, these are really ugly but an ugly keyboard is better that not having one.
  • you can also paint the back of your existing type cover with the NFL team logo of your choice for under 10 bucks......a saving of very very deep $150.00!
