T-Mobile set to launch HTC Radar 4G on November 2nd

When T-Mobile finally announced the Radar 4G, one thing that was missing was a firm release date. We knew it cleared the FCC and we've seen it videoed already, but all we had for a time-frame was "Holiday season".

Well, consider this your clarification. The HTC Radar 4G is set to launch on T-Mobile on Wednesday, November 2nd--just under 30 days from now. Price is a sane and expected $199 on contract.

Of course, we have a feeling that a lot of you will be griping about the lack of a proper HD7 successor--notably the Titan missing from the lineup. Sadly, this launch lineup adds nothing to that disappointment, although we have to admit, the Radar 4G is a very nice phone. In fact, we're going to advise a lot of you to at least play with it in the store/get a hands on before you outright dismiss it, because its screen and build quality are some of the best we've ever seen--no joke.

  • Huh, never thought I'd see an actual release date for a Mango device in the USA.
  • Here is hoping that AT&T announces something soon!
  • Less than a month yet it seems so far away. Sadly, with T-Mobile's weak offerings my next WP7 will most likely be with AT&T or Sprint. And I don't want to be on AT&T. Don't drop the ball Sprint! Though I'm guessing that if the rumors are true and Sprint spent 20 billion on getting the iPhone 5 then they've already dropped the WP7 ball. :(
  • There is some great news in the WP world- the so far successful Mango updates, the fact Nokia will be on the US Shores sooner than later (both of which I am happy to be wrong on), Samsung reaching a deal with Microsoft to stay on board with Windows Phones, some really great AT&T devices. But- what is up with all the other carriers? If the HD7 has Mango, why would anyone on T-Mo pick this Radar with nearly the same specs and a less usable, smaller touch screen? Where is there ANY support on Verizon and Sprint? I have had some unpleasant issues with AT&T and would like to move on, but if I want a WP - what choice do I have? I kinda like the Arrive, but I dislike the Trophy. Just seems like there is this huge gap among choices. Also- whatever happened to the LG Fantasy?? I have been impressed with the last two major releases of LG's on AT&T (the Revolution was decent, but the Thrill is very good.) Would love to see them get their WP Mango out to compete for my cash, which is going to be easily separated from me.
  • Getting the Torch, huh? I thought that was an AT%T exclusive. Also, I want to see HTC bring a 4.3in Mango phone. 4.7 is a bit much for me. But I'm sure A LOT of people would/will love the Titan.
  • See how its the lone WP7 device surrounded by android devices? Waiting for the inevitable purchase horror stories and tales of sales rep bias.
  • But it sticks out nicely amongst those black slabs.
