TP-Link's Kasa KL110 Smart Light Bulb requires no hub to work and lets you control it using an app on your smartphone... or with your voice.

Unlike other smart bulbs, this option doesn't require you to purchase a separate hub or other equipment to get everything set up. As long as you have a smartphone and a Wi-Fi connection at home, you can begin using it easily. Using the Kasa Smart app on your phone will allow you to control this bulb from anywhere in the world and schedule when you want it to turn off and on. You'll be able to check whether you left the light on while you're at work or turn it off while you stay bundled up underneath your covers before going to sleep.

If you happen to have a device like the Amazon Echo Dot (opens in new tab) or Google Home Mini (opens in new tab) at home, you can even begin voice controlling the bulb with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
