The upcoming free-to-play shooter Scavengers that features elements of both cooperative PvE as well as competitive PvP has gotten a new gameplay trailer that shows off the game's world, combat, and other gameplay systems. Specifically, the trailer shows how you will team up with a group of other players to try and survive a harsh winter wasteland by collecting food, staying warm, and keeping other groups off your back. The world appears to feature dynamic weather systems (at one point, a team suddenly becomes trapped in a blizzard) and also is filled with both docile and hostile creatures. You can watch the trailer below.

Overall, Scavengers looks really cool, and I'm definitely going to sign up to playtest the game. You can do the same by heading to the game's website. The developer of the game, Midwinter Entertainment, is led by Josh Holmes, who previously served as Studio Head for 343 Industries, the developer for Halo. As someone who really enjoyed Halo 5's Warzone mode, it will be interesting to see if Scavengers plays like it in some ways.

It's unclear when Scavengers will come out, but we do know that it's coming out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It's also very likely that the game will be playable on both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, too.

KLIM Aim RGB gaming mouse ($30 at Amazon)

Whether you're a gamer or not, this is an absurdly good mouse for the price. It's ambidextrous, has a responsive sensor, a braided cable, tank-like build quality, and, yes, it has RGB lighting, though you can turn it off if that's not your thing.

These neat little speakers may only pack 2.4W of total power, but don't let that fool you. For something so small you get a well-rounded sound and a stylish design. And they only cost $16.

Use a wired mouse? You need a mouse bungee to keep your cable tidy and free of snags. You get no drag on the cable, and this one has subtle styling, a rust-resistant spring and a weighted base, all for $20.
