Upcoming Sprint Diamond ROM Leaked!

Well looky here!  Evidently Sprint is getting ready to release a significant ROM update for the HTC Diamond.  Official "leaking" seems to be standard practice these days as you folks serve as great beta testers ;-)

This is just breaking so not many have tried it yet. One big change appears to be the inclusion of the new Mobile Internet Explorer 6.  Huzzah!

Here's what different/new:

  • CE OS 5.2.20764 (Build 20764.1.4.3)
  • MSIE 6.0 (New Internet Explorer?)
  • Radio: 1.11.00F
  • Opera 9.5 build 15306
  • new audiobooster
  • new audio manager
  • new camera
  • new dshow
  • new ezinput
  • new fullscreen player
  • new random access
  • new stream media
  • new rsshub
  • new youtube

  • Any word of an update for the Touch Pro? Not that I need anything specific. I'm just jealous.
  • Not yet, but I wouldn't imagine it too far behind. Someone already extracted and .cab'd up all the new apps, which you should be able to install/overwrite on your TP:

  • Sweet...Ill try that out...thanks Mal.
  • hopefully the touch pros is coming soon :P, to bad it doesnt come with the ATI Graphics Driver that we need
  • Any idea on when this update is going to be shipping with in-store phones?
  • i have converted everything usable from this rom to Packages for cooking on the pro. the new youtube is sweet. the camera was lightning fast but wont allow you to enable flash like older builds so i tossed it out the door. Full Screen Player also was causing issues as it was heavily ties into the sprint applications. so its a no go unless your using all the sprint apps. which most do not. Look for them in the PPC Geeks pro upgrade section soon. have fun! :)
  • Any word on if this actually fixes the horrible battery life and incredibly bad bluetooth stack?
  • Does anyone know how it will be applied or how I can get it once it is released? Will it be automatically downloaded on my phone? Thanks
  • how about it any word on the firmware update yet?
  • Buggy, lots of dropped calls. Can't wait for the official ROM...
