Where's the best place to buy an HP EliteBook x360 1030?
What customization options does HP offer?
HP seems to have gone all out in offering a ton of customization options for its EliteBook x360 1030, starting with the operating system and moving right through to mobile broadband. It's a business laptop, so most will stick with Windows 10 Pro, but there are also Windows 10 Home and FreeDOS 2.0 options.
Internal hardware is grouped into the processor (CPU), RAM, and graphics (GPU), starting with an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U CPU, 8GB of RAM, and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. You can go all the way up to an 8th Gen vPro Intel Core i7-8650U CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and the same integrated graphics, as well as included OS recovery.
The 13.3-inch touch display is available in 1920x1080 (FHD) or 4K resolution, and there's an option to add HP's Sure View privacy screen to keep bystanders from seeing what you're viewing when out in public.
Internal storage ranges from a 128 GB M.2 SATA solid-state drive (SSD) all the way up to a 2 TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, with plenty of options in between. There's even a 512 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe self-encrypting SSD for a bit of extra protection.
Finally, if you'd like to add the ability to stay connected to the internet just about anywhere, choose between a Qualcomm Snapdragon X12 or an Intel XMM 7360 LTE modem. If you're worried about longevity — especially if you're using the device on the go — there are 1-year and 3-year limited warranties available that will cover parts and labor.
Who is the EliteBook x360 1030 G3 intended for?
The EliteBook x360 1030 definitely isn't for everyone due to the hardware included and, ultimately, the starting price. It has a knockout battery that lasts well through a workday, it has business-oriented hardware, there are a bunch of security features included, and it's built to premium standards complete with durability testing.
If you're just looking for a convertible laptop to use around the house, this is no doubt overkill. However, if you're a standard user who needs a reliable business partner to help run the show and can appreciate extra security and premium features, this is no doubt one of the best options out there right now.

HP offers quite a selection of accessories compatible with the EliteBook x360 1030 G3 that you can add before checkout, including wireless mice, USB-C and HDMI adapters, cases, backpacks, and USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 docking station.
