Windows Phone Gear Store gets new items in to celebrate 100,000 apps

It seems that if you’re a Windows Phone fan you got to have merchandise to prove it—rock stars have it, sports teams have so why not smartphones?

If you’ve been looking to part with your money to prove your dedication then you’ll want to swing by the official Windows Phone Gear store powered by Café Press.  The store launched last month and since then it has received a new merchandise design—"100,000 apps and counting"—which features a myriad of little Windows Phone app tiles.

The new option is short, simple and is available in a coffee mug, water bottle, sticker and magnet. We’d opt for the coffee mug personally as we think that looks the coolest.

Interestingly, we remember this design was picked up and modified by Microsoft’s KC Lemson (who’s hilarious on Twitter--you should totally follow her) from SharePoint specialist Leon Zandman, which goes to show you that neat designs can come from anywhere.

Head to the Windows Phone Gear store to see if there’s anything that piques your interest. Thanks, marco300, for the heads up

  • Thanx Dan now I gotta buy it lol
  • 100.000 apps, 95% of these apps are useless...
  • Isn't that the case for all app stores?
  • This post is useless
  • Yes, it is. I'm glad you finally realise how useless your comments are. So why did you post it anyway?
Or did you mean "that post"? :P
  • It's a reply to his post that's why it's right below it
  • Yes, I realise you were trying to do that, but saying "this" refers to your own post. i.e. "This is a useless statement." - the "this" refers to itself. Changing it to "That is a useless statement." - the "that" refers to another sentence.
  • grammer cop much...? im pretty sure most ppl got what he was saying the first time...
  • I agree! 100,000% all shitty apps and full of bugs.. Very frustrating.. Ugh.
  • Really? I have hundreds of useful apps on my phone and the only "bugs" I have ever had are from sites like Pandora, Instagram and YouTube changing their APIs. After which the developers quickly fix the app. Sounds like you have never used a Windows Phone.
  • Still waiting on a Wells Fargo app!!!!!
  • Me 2. :(
  • 3
  • I 4th that BUT at least their wf.com mobile site is pretty good. It isn't as good as an official app but comes in handy.

  • Wat's new in wells fargo app can yu tell me plz ?
  • What's useless is the daily dose of 20 new apps from yalla apps. Someone please make them go away.
  • Agree! Someone at Microsoft, please boot them and all their crap apps.
  • I love Windows Phone. I love my apps. I love awesome and dedicated developers that make those apps I love. But I happen to hate quality control over our apps, like I don't want to sound like a grumpy old man but seeing 20 of those $0.99 "Just a fan" apps every single time I go to the "New" section really grinds my gears. The 100,000 doesnt really mean much to me if Microsoft is cool with these so called "developers" floding the market with their junk. Oh yeah and I believe 99% of Yalla Apps are garbage.
    I has sad
/Rant Oh what a cool mug!
  • You got the point. :)
  • Cool! Like, really, really cool! Windows Phone is starting to be indispensable to me. Although I was already into the ecosystem with Xbox Live, but now the phone is just as important and not only in the ludic part of my life.
Bluntly off topic I urge fellow gamers to try the Mush game which is... Lovely!
Also bought Mirror's Edge, and it's another proof that touch screen mobile gaming need games designed for such devices, virtual analog sticks / d-pads are, almost always, no fun, EA did it right! It's fluent, almost organic.
Aside from that the Oltmpics app is great; WP Central is a must; WhatsApp; ToDo Master and Weather Master; Petrol Logger and Call Recorder are all in my home screen.
Good job MS and friendly devs!
  • Sorry, I disagree about the controls. I didn't buy Mush because I had to use tilt-controls, and I won't by any game that doesn't give me touch-controls. I really can't stand tilt controls!
  • I agree with the others posting so far... Yalla Apps (and similar) should be banned forever from Marketplace. I mean really, it's pure trash. Quantity of Apps is important only for bragging, and brand recognition, apparently... look at Apple, after all... however, I still believe in promoting QUALITY over quantity. It'd be great if we could get more big-name developers on board. Also, banking apps should get some priority. Still waiting on Chase and Wells Fargo.
  • Yes, I would like a way to control the apps I see. I want to hide apps I've already bought or already seen, and hide apps from certain publishers. Currently navigating the Marketplace is a chore, so I rarely bother.
  • In windows phone 95% useless apps :-(
  • You should see Android then... It's probably 98% :P
  • Dude m wid widows ok but i want realize devlopers and windows marketplace wat they r doin wid windows phone users okay :P only make dumb :P plz only make 1000 app but make gud :)
  • Very frustating windows on me :-(:-(
