  • Perhaps I'm stupid, but how do I get to the podcast from within the app on Windows Phone?
  • swipe right to the browse section, and click podcast in the top right corner
  • Thank you! I was looking for it within the article itself.
  • I saw you mention other apps for WP. Why no mention of the audible app that came out today? They said it on their blog. Sorry if I missed that. There was so much info this past day.
  • I'm not getting any audio on the YouTube version...
  • What device are you using? I'm using my Nokia Lumia 900. I just touched the play arrow in the video, and it opened in YouTube. Sound was fine.
  • I'm using IE9 on Windows 7. Just tried it again and still no audio. Other YouTube videos play fine.
Also, I see that some other comments on the YouTube page for this video refer to audio problems.
  • I like Paul, what he has to say
  • Here's my random comment. King me! =P
  • Aww, I wish we could have heard you guys talk more about the event.  Good to hear Pocket Paul on the poscast.
  • This was an awkward podcast. With the microphones not working right and Rafael going mute when asked a question. You guys sounded like you had a tough day at the summit. It was great hearing Paul on the podcast. I'm a big fan of his work and never miss his show on Twit. ( Windows Weekly) I can't wait to see the consumer preview of WP8. It would of been great to see Microsoft show a WP8 to match the Surface.:-)
  • It's the joys of live technology when you really have no idea what could happen :)
  • You know that we can't actually download the app through the Zune software since it's last update right?
  • Did anyone ask Thurott if he still thinks no one is going to care what Microsoft unveils at the Monday event in LA?
  • Dan's pronunciation of Huawei is amazing.
  • Not yet listened to the podcast but hope someone can answer what we expect to see for app development for existing hardware. I have a HD7 and don't plan to switch phone until it dies. Therefore I'm really worried that developers will program for WP8 and ignor wp7.5 / 8 (not yet sure my HD7 will even get the update to 7.8), Will I be left with no new apps and very little in the way of app updates? I know I'm not the norm and everyone else switches their phones every 2 years but I really can't afford to do that just now. If so it would put me off buying another WP.
  • I just can tell you that, according to Thurrot,  your HD7 will be getting the update to 7.8. This is what Thurrot said: "Windows Phone 7.8 will be delivered directly to all Windows Phone users, bypassing the carriers. You will be able to download and install Windows Phone 7.8 over Wi-Fi, at home or wherever else, and install this update."
  • Thanks for the info. Will have to listen to the podcast to see what else is going on. Everything i read though sounds great for wp8. Just have to save my pennies i guess.
  • Is Thurrott in his pajamas?
  • Is there really any point to have higer resolution screens then 720p on a 5> phone?
  • Not really. The 1280x768 resolution has the same aspect ratio as 800x480, which is why Microsoft supports it.
  • hello daniel, i noticed you said microsoft skipped some features to wp8, are they big?..so theres much more to wp8 than what its said on the summit?...and also i noticed they all the presented was on the front home screen, and didnt show whats on swipping to the right, which on wp7 shows the apps installed on the phone, maybe its on purpose coz its also a brand new look?? getting more excited for wp8!  :D
  • Posting in the comments, hoping to get one of those avatar codes. :)
  • You guys are doing such a great job with this site. So many great articles the last few days... Thanks for all the long hours :)
