Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers looking to give online multiplayer a shot can do so for free this weekend. Xbox Live has kicked off a free multiplayer weekend running from October 27-30, allowing anyone to play online without paying for a Gold subscription.

Xbox runs promotions like this every so often, and it's a good way to get a taste of online multiplayer in your favorite games without having to shell out any money. To sweeten the deal this time, however, Xbox One gamers will also get to play Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for free this weekend as well.

Are you going to give online multiplayer a shot this weekend? Let us know in the comments below which game you're planning to try!

  • Nice.
  • Killer Instinct
  • Any demo games you recommend on the Xbox 360?
  • There are tons of good games on the 360, but I can't think of any in a demo mode. Are you talking about demoing the MP in games instead of game demos?
  • I meant game demos that support multiplayer, just to try the whole xbox multiplayer thing, as I'm not usually a console player.
  • I figured that's what you meant so my original answer stands. Sorry, I can't think of any. Usually game demos (from what I can remember) don't provide much MP if any. Wish I could help.
  • Gears of War 4 campaign, Horde mode.
  • COD 11!
  • Well, Microsoft should be indicating "The New Controller, "that is the one which does not use batteries (xb1 S) . People won't have time to guess. Isaiah Heart
