Long-awaited HD Xbox One remaster of Assassin's Creed Rogue may be on the way

A few days ago there were reports that certain Italian retailers were taking preorders for the game. However, there wasn't enough evidence to suggest a remaster of the Xbox 360 title was on its way. Considering that South Korea's game rating body frequently leaks a lot of upcoming titles, this new listing could signify that a remaster is in development for current-generation consoles. As with any such rumor, treat it with a grain of salt until we receive official word from Ubisoft. Gamers have been asking for an upgraded version for many years now so hopefully the publisher will deliver.

Assassin's Creed Rogue takes place in North America around the 18th century. Amid the chaos and violence of the French and Indian War, Shay Patrick Cormac, a fearless young member of the Assassins Brotherhood, undergoes a dark transformation that will forever shape the future of the colonies. After a dangerous mission goes tragically wrong, Shay turns his back on the Assassins who attempt to end his life. Cast aside by those he once called brothers, Shay sets out on a mission to wipe out all who turned against him and to ultimately become the most feared Assassin hunter in history. The game takes you to a variety of locations like New York City, the Wild River Valley, and even up to the North Atlantic in pursuit of your targets.

The Xbox 360 version of Assassin's Creed Rogue is currently backward compatible so if you don't want to wait for a possible remaster, you can experience it right now.

  • One of the best AC game.
But if its just for XO, and not X1X enhancement, im pass.
  • I'm hoping as well. I wouldn't mind if the Xbox 360 version was upgraded like Halo 3 or Gears of War 3.
  • If you enjoyed the naval combat of Black Flag you will really enjoy rogue.
  • Easily one of the best AC games. My 2nd favorite in fact. And aside from visuals (though on par on lastgen), it's better than Black Flag in every way.
  • the only one I have not played, when I moved from the 360 to the One, Black Flag which was it's predecesor came out for One, but this one did not, seemed a little odd
  • This is a remaster I can get behind as its release date coincided with me upgrading to the One so I missed out on Rogue.
  • This is the only AC I haven't played. I would pick up a remake of this... Given it isn't the full $60. $40 sounds reasonable.
