Buy Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for Xbox One and get a free Xbox 360 game

Square Enix is celebrating the release of the cyberpunk RPG Deus Ex: Mankind Divided by letting people who buy the Xbox One version on Amazon, or several other games from the publisher, get a free Xbox 360 game that can be played on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility.

Here's how it works. First, go to the special Amazon Square Enix promo page on Amazon (opens in new tab) and buy the Xbox One version of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (regular, digital or collector's edition), Just Cause 3 (regular or digital), Thief, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, Life is Strange, Murdered: Soul Suspect or Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.

After that order is made, you should get a promo code via email. You then proceed to Square Enix's special web site, and type in that code, along with your name and email. After that's done, you pick your free Xbox 360 game from a list of five: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dungeon Siege III, Just Cause 2, Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days, or Supreme Commander 2. Again, all of those titles can also be played on the Xbox One.

  • Benefits of backwards compatibility!
  • Having both ps4 and Xbox one I have to say, the free games you get with many purchases thanks to backwards compatibility is amazing compared to "dynamic themese" You're offered on ps4.
  • What if the game is not backward compatible and u don't have an Xbox360 anymore lol
  • I just realized that only "Xbox" gets a controller emoji and there's none for PlayStation or nintendo. Unfortunately windows central doesn't like emoji's.
  • Microsoft is winning the emoji war!
  • Wish that deal extended to those of us who already bought one or more of those games digitally.
