Compulsion Games was founded in 2009 and it hasn't been an easy road for the team. The first game the team launched was Contrast in 2013, but it didn't garner great reviews. After that, it worked on We Happy Few, but that title also didn't garner stellar scores. However, in both cases, the world-building and storytelling was unique, and Microsoft eventually made the team into a first-party Xbox Game Studio.

If you're interested in checking out their journey and the inspiration behind their projects, be sure to check out the documentary. It's available for free on YouTube and is around 40 minutes long. It's completely worth it in my opinion and quite informative!

We Happy Few is part of Xbox Game Pass so you can play it with your subscription.
