What you need to know

  • Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming open-world RPG from CD Projekt RED coming later this year.
  • In the latest episode of Night City Wire, we got a closer look at the vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077, including a collaboration with Porsche.
  • Johnny Silverhand, Keanu Reeves' in-game character, has a custom 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo, which is being brought to the game.
  • You can check out the car, as well as the process of bringing it to Cyberpunk 2077.

The fourth episode of Night City Wire just wrapped up, and it gave us an in-depth look at the vast number of driveable and customizable vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077. However, we also caught a peek at something that was previously teased by Cyberpunk 2077 a few days ago, and is now official: the hotly anticipated video game is teaming up with Porsche to bring a classic vehicle to the futuristic game. Even better, the car belongs to Johnny Silverhand, the charismatic phantom played by none other than Keanu Reeves.

The car is a 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo, which would make the car exactly one century old in Cyberpunk 2077, and was owned by Johnny Silverhand when he was still alive. The end of the teaser trailer says "The soul of a Porsche and its owner never part ways," indicating that the car is still intrinsically connected to its now departed driver. The car looks fantastic, and also sports a custom interior and suitably awesome-looking paint job to go with it.

The Cyberpunk 2077 team meticulously recorded all the necessary audio for the real 911 Turbo to bring it to life in-game, including rolling the windows up and down. It's clear it'll be a real treat to drive this classic legend around in Cyberpunk 2077, befuddling the masses with a car that's obstinately not part of the future.

It won't be long before we all find out for ourselves, as Cyberpunk 2077 arrives on our doorsteps on November 19, 2020, right after the launch of the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Playstation 5. The game has gone gold as well, so there shouldn't be any more delays.
