Dramatic video shows the Nokia Lumia 2520 is all set for work and play

We’re not sure what to say about Nokia’s latest video for the Lumia 2520 in the UK. It’s... dramatic? The video has been uploaded to their Youtube channel in the UK. We are assuming the main message is the Nokia Lumia 2520 is great for work and play because that’s what the title says. Take a look for yourself.

The video ends with brief availability information. The Nokia Lumia 2520 is exclusively available at John Lewis stores in the UK.

Running Windows RT 8.1, the Nokia Lumia 2520 features a 10.1-inch 1080p display, 6.7-megapixel ZEISS camera, 2-megapixel wide-angle front camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and more. Read our full review for more details.

  • 2520!
  • WTF!!
  • +1 Nerds like us know what the message is, but anybody else seeing this would just be WTFing like crazy. Would be a big mistake to put this on TV or anywhere the "general" (i.e. not-nerd) public can see it.
  • Love it. Probably not a great add though. Too creepy.
  • I agree. MS and Nokia needs to present some contents. Stop wasting money being dramatic. It can only last so long
  • I need 2020. An 8 inch tablet by Nokia would be my next.
  • It was canceled!
  • None of the reputable tech sites have said its Cancelled, so I am holding out hope!
  • No appealing message whatsoever
  • I am so scared right now.
  • Me too omg creepy as f
  • This is one of the stupidest commercials I've ever seen. I'm shocked someone approved this.
  • We're talking about it, aren't we?
  • Can't wait for the keyboard. Love this tablet
  • Creepy.
  • Uhh... well... ok, then.
  • Disturbing ad.
  • 2520 = mullet. Nice.
  • Um no, based on the mullet alone!
  • They need to fix the graphics issues in order to fully party. Waiting for that and my keyboard.
  • Really creepy and weird but I don't why... I kinda liked it.
"Business in the front and party in the back"
  • Me too. It creeped me out and tickled my funny bone.
  • Good tablet, rotten commercial.
  • It appears that Seasonal Affective Disorder has hit Espoo.
  • Creepiest tablet commercial ever....
  • If anything this ad makes me not want to buy a 2520. Who would find this ad appealing!?
  • I did.
  • Remember, this is British humor as well.
  • I did too... I don't know why.
Definitely not my favorite but I like this better than those creepy Nokia Lumia cartoon commercial...
  • That is so creepy yet hilariously funny at the same time!
  • Wtf did I just see?
  • WTF? This for sure demonstrates the differences in what marketing works for the UK and for the US and for everywhere else. Living in the US I would definitely say that not only would this commerical gross me out, but it would make me NOT want a Nokia product at all. I'll be looking forward to seeing the comments on here from those in the UK as to what they think of the commercial.
  • Can't wait for the keyboard
  • well like da guy said in video something new
  • When they sell a white 2520 with a red touch cover, I will buy one!
  • Please stop with these stupid adds
  • *ads
  • How is the ad unappealing? It's a joke; it's supposed to be spooky. Do we consider Old Spice ads unappealing because there's a crazy muscle guy screaming? No, they're silly, funny, unexpected. What strange comments here and on Youtube.
  • I really don't get this ad.....im so confused lol
  • That add would make me NOT want to by the tablet....
  • *ad
  • You may as well have added "buy" in there also..
  • There's only so much one grammar nazi can do. And that is why we have more than one of them.
  • Halloween was two months ago.   Another zero-substance ad.
  • Good thing this wasn't in the US then? Halloween is just another day in most other countries, so we can do scary/creepy stuff all year round :P
  • Terrible ad. Love my tablet tho'.
  • wat?
  • Just horrific. 'Nuff said.
  • What the hell?! Who in their right mind would buy a Lumia 2520 after seeing that horrendously creepy ad?! It's times like these that I question my loyalty to Microsoft and Nokia...
  • WTF!?  But that's why I love it. Alternative syle ads are what makes a brand stand out. Love it or hate it, it resonates that Nokia is not a staid technical company but is a fun group of dudes and dudettes like you knew from college.
  • This is absolutely the worst commercial I have seen anywhere this year. Whoever came up with the idea should be fired.
  • I think it's a good piece of hardware, but the problem is Windows RT... Being limited to software only available through MS Store is annoying. I have a LG Slidepad, which was a really good acquisition (Celeron Processor, 64Gb of storage, all Windows software available to install and a real keyboard made my decision to buy this hybrid instead of only a Windows tablet).
  • I loved it. Had me laughing. He reminds me of Captain Spaulding from house of a 1000 corpses and devils rejects. I dont get why no one likes it here. Do you prefer the dancing surface commercials? At least this showed off some functionality of windows 8 and the elegant Nokia tab. Good Day.
  • Its an add that you actually remember and what it advertises. Isn't that whole point? Next time you go buy new tablet you remember that creepy add and Lumia 2520.
  • *ad
  • this ad is from NOKIA UK... how many of you complaining and trashing this ad are from there? do you know the humor in countries is different?
please stop your stupidity and think a little why an ad from a country is so different to another country... are you from UK? what do you think about it? if you are not, well... guess what? this ad is NOT aimed for you so if you didnt like it your opinion doesnt matter.
  • Wat this ad is about.....?
  • Just like a mullet, the Nokia Lumia 2520 is both work and play.
  • I'm from the UK & I loved the ad, very League Of Gentlemen...
  • Exactly, this would be the barber in royston Vasey( a place where anything can happen) its a local ad for local people. Anyone who thinks this is creepy scary etc really ought to get out a little more and quit watching friends and glee. As for what it means, who knows, i liked it.
  • Whats with this Windows RT, does this tablet not support full blown windows like the Microsoft Surface?
  • It has a Qualcomm processor...it's an ARM tablet.  ARM tablets run Windows RT.  It is not capable of running Windows 8 or Win7... Surface and Surface 2 run Windows RT.  Only the Surface Pro and Pro 2 run Windows 8 or 8.1 x64...

  • 2-mins of my life that I'll never get back. That was AWFUL.
  • Terrible ad by Nokia. Did not expect this. Wasted my time.
  • Well it freaked me out, stood some hairs on back of my neck.
Its sort of tim Burton style.
Its giving message its not apple or android, try it, it can do anything and you will LOVE it!
  • Remember the Palm Pre commercial featuring the creepy looking woman? Yea, that...
  • i thought it was Fabulous XøXø
  • Creepy. Weird. But I loved it!
  • Suddenly my eyes started to bleed out.
  • Americans... Oh well, let us just say that there are some cultural differneces that might make some ads better in different in different markets. The recent ad that was about the deal about the 2520 and the 928 was more than a little cringe worthy from my scandinavian perspective, the ending in particular. This might not be the best TV ad as it is a bit too long, but atleast it is a bit more creative than most other ads, and as a web ad, it is noteworthy enough to go viral.
  • Definitely agree. A lot of the US ads are awful, with terrible humour. A lot of good ones too though.
  • Odd advert but the strap line is good.
  • This makes the creepy Palm Pre woman seem warm and comforting.
  • It looks like they hired Palm's old ad agency. NOT a good thing... http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DG0P8_O8u64
  • Utter rubbish
  • I thought it was pretty amusing. Definitely made me pay attention to the product to figure out wtf was going on. I'm still not sure they would want to associate themselves with the worst haircut on the planet though...
  • 'Business at the front, party at the back'. Wasn't that what people always describe a mullet as?
It also suits the 2520, doesn't it?
  • That was stuppid.
  • what the hell did i just watch?
  • Dafuq did I just watch. Enough internet for today.
  • That's totally weird.
  • Can anyone tell me when and if there will be a cyan version in U.S?
  • Wtf Nokia lol hahaha
  • Sense of humour fail in three...two.. wait, never mind, you all got in before me.
  • 2520 should appear at Insidious 3....
  • Wtf is this. Go away!!!!
  • Umm.. pretty dumb IMO
