The mind-bending Windows Phone game Evo Explores is today's myAppFree Deal

Evo Explores is an entertaining Windows Phone game that is inspired by the eye-catching puzzle game Monument Valley. Available for both Windows PC and Phones, Evo Explores sends you to a physics-defying world where you have to solve a series of perplexing puzzles.

Normally priced at $1.99, if you've been on the fence about picking up this gaming title today is your chance to save a bit. Through the myAppFree partnership, over the next twenty-four hours, you can pick up Evo Explores free. It's an excellent opportunity to pick up a challenging game and save a little along the way.

The backstory for Evo Explores calls for you to guide the main character, Evo the robot, across the mysterious planet Byte. Byte is full of 3D puzzles that at first glance may appear disconnected. You will have to manipulate the architecture of each structure to create a path for Evo to travel and reach the exit point.

The main menu follows the puzzle theme of the game with the levels of play scattered about a structure that you will have to navigate through to reach each level's portal. The first few levels of Evo Explores will serve as a tutorial that walks you through the basics of gameplay. After that, the game lets you rely on your imagination and ability to look beyond the face of the structure to decipher the true M.C. Escher-ian geometry of the puzzle.

Evo Explores

Moving Evo around the puzzle is simple, just tap on the portion of the path you wish Evo to move towards and he'll oblige your command. The mechanics of manipulating the puzzle's architecture include swinging sections of walkways, rotating the entire structure, raising columns, sending Evo to stand on a switch and more. I think the hardest solution to grasp is removing a gap in the walkway by hiding it with a column. It shouldn't work but as the game's description states, "…trust your eyes. If something looks real, it is real." If you cannot see the gap, it must not exist.

There are no time limits or points to earn. Each level of play with Evo Explores is pass or fail in nature. The game currently includes fourteen levels of play, but some of the gaming levels are designed in multiple stages. In these levels, you will have to solve several puzzles to complete the level as a whole, which gives the game a little more depth.

Evo Explores is a creative, challenging and fun Windows game to spend a little time with. Available for both Windows PC and Phones, Evo Explores is normally priced at $1.99. However, over the next twenty-four hours, through the myAppFree deal, you can pick up the Windows Phone game free.

  • Inspired by? Looks like it's a little more than just that.
  • Totally what I was thinking!
  • Haha, my thoughts exactly xD
  • ^This! It's not inspired, it's simply copied. I got confused at first when I read the title and saw the image -_-
  • Windows 10 Mobile dumped 512MB phones... But the games still haven't lost hope on us.. So we got that going for us.. Which is nice.
  • It apparently is "free*", so it has in-app purchases. Sometimes the Store exposes what those are, but now it seems hidden. What is the catch?
  • It's free because it's been reduced to free by the myappfree deal. Once the deal expires I imagine it will go back to original price Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • Monument Evo Valley?
  • I have the game installed, can i get the rest of the levels for free now ?previously which were only available through an in app purchase
  • dont play too many games, besides AOE...but I like the looks of this one. I'm gonna get it , heck why not.
  • Why, everytime you guys report on an app in the myappfree deal its never the same app as in the app I have on my phone?
  • I just played this game and is awesome Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • I agree..."Inspired by Monument Valley"?  This game is a direct rip-off of Monument Valley.  I don't know how these guys are getting away with this...but this game is in fact direct copyright infringement.
  • Please show me what concrete copyright I infriged. If every game mechanic can be patented, there would be 10 games in enrite world :)
  • Quit engaging with the marks here. There are heaps of games “inspired” by Monument Valley in the Apple App Store. Besides, why tf does it even matter to them. Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • Never heard of Monument Valery but as that is three quid and this is free, it's a no brainer. As an aside, let's count how many games Temple Run instead. Must be hundreds. Posted on a L950XL with Fingers 10
  • Sent them a translation to Serbian. It's nice that some developers let you help like that, would be great if more were open to it. :)
  • Nice game
  • How to use QR code reader on windows 10 mobile?
  • how to use? There is no Bing-build in QR reader anymore, like with WP81 as you already knew.. I installed "QR Scanner RS"  app. Versatile and opens url automatically.. the webpage opened then has uri-schema for windows Store (ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=xxxx) for automatic store launch.
  • this game made me nuts within minutes.  thanks :/
  • Great little game. It's what MC Escher would have come up with if he was a developer. Posted on a L950XL with Fingers 10
  • ... and it's translated into many many many languages... e.g. to Finnish by me ;)
  • Yes it is inspired by monument valley. Characters are different and more importantly alot of the puzzle style extend beyond the simplicity of mv. Great game. Not as good story wise or style wise as mv but as a game to play I though this was actually better. The fact that is is free and the levels are great makes me wonder at complaints. Looking forward to evo2 which is odd for me as I rarely play games but this like mv hooked me. Posted from my magical block of green cheese.
  • I couldn't go past level 14. There seems to be just no way to complete that level.
  • Got it a few weeks back really good game =)
  • Todavía nola entiendo muy vien
