Wuthering Waves is an open-world action RPG developed by Kuro Games. It was first released in 2024 on PC and mobile, before arriving on PlayStation 5 in 2025.

That PS5 version was also spotted ahead of its official reveal, and now it looks like Xbox could be following a similar path.

What the leak actually shows

The Wuthering Waves leak appears to show Xbox-related tags within the game’s files, including XboxUserId and XboxOnlineId. These references suggest Kuro Games may be preparing for a potential Xbox release.

Currently, Wuthering Waves is only available on PC, mobile, and PlayStation 5. The game does support cross-play and cross-save, meaning an Xbox version would likely connect with existing platforms. Players would likely also be able to continue their progress and play with others across different systems.

For those unfamiliar with Wuthering Waves, it is a gacha game, similar to Genshin Impact. These are typically free-to-play titles that use a lottery-style system to unlock characters or items, often encouraging players to spend money for better rewards.

While that might not sound appealing at first, the genre is extremely popular. Wuthering Waves currently holds an 88% user score on Steam, and it receives regular updates, with version 3.1 launching in February 2026.

As always with leaks like this, it is best to take it with a grain of salt. Even if an Xbox version is in development, it could still be months or more than a year away, so expectations should be kept in check.

🎮 Would you be excited for Wuthering Waves on Xbox?

The game may have been out for a couple of years now, but an Xbox release after skipping the platform for so long would still be a welcome addition.
