The Gears of War 4 Xbox One S is Microsoft's best special edition yet

Gears of War Xbox One S

As Gamescom kicked off in Cologne, Germany, sitting in the middle of the Xbox booth is the stunning new Xbox One S. And sitting just off to the side of that is the even more stunning Gears of War 4 Xbox One S. Microsoft has had special editions of its consoles before, but this is the best one yet.

And not just because it's red.

Once the launch edition has gone, the Gears special edition will be the next opportunity to get hold of a 2TB Xbox One S. The standout visual feature on the console is the claw markings, laser cut into the actual console over being a just a graphic. Then there's the famous logo adorning the perforated section, even a red vertical stand.

If you've had a hankering for a truly stand out console, then this is one to get. It probably won't be the last special edition, but it'll always be one of the best looking.

Besides the console there's other Gears 4 branded hardware headed our way too. Hyper X has collaborated with Microsoft to produce a unique looking red gaming headset, while there's also the special edition controllers, and the extra special Gears 4 Elite Controller.

Like the console, the Gears 4 Elite Controller has laser cut claw marks as well as the red color scheme and markings. It comes at a higher price than the regular Elite Controller, but this one definitely won't blend in to the crowd. All we have to do now is look down the back of the sofa to find a lot of spare change to buy all this good stuff!
